We are entering this upcoming week with mixed emotions as we share our last week of school with our seniors. We are excited for their next steps and everything before them while we all will miss them!

Parents of Seniors – Please see the overview of next week below:

• Wednesday, May 15 – Final Exams begin for Seniors in hours 3, 5, and 7
• Thursday, May 16 – Final Exams for our Seniors in hours 2, 4 and 6
• Friday, May 17 is 1st hour Final Exam, Senior Breakfast, and Graduation Rehearsal. Here is the link to the schedule for that day: May 17 Seniors Only Check Out Day

Friday, May 17th is yearbook distribution for all students with freshmen, sophomores, and juniors receiving theirs in the afternoon.

Please see the final exam schedule below for all students.

May is a busy time of year, and it can also be stressful for some of our students. Please reach out to a counselor or administrator if you need any support over these next few weeks.

The Yearbook is almost here! The Yearbook will be distributed to the school on Friday, May 17th. Seniors will pick up their book after graduation rehearsal while everyone else will be released during 7th hour to pick up their book.

The foundation is hosting a Scholarship Shawnee Mission Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Night on May 15, 2024. The open house event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Center for Academic Achievement, 8200 W. 71st Street, Shawnee Mission, KS. 66204

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Parents/Guardians/Students:

Summer school courses are now open for registration. Summer courses can be taken to either “get ahead” in credit towards graduation or for “credit recovery” to make up failed credit that is required for graduation.

PTSA will host the Senior Breakfast on the seniors' last day of school, May 17. Senior families, please CLICK HERE to contribute!

Attention Freshmen Families:

To celebrate all the incredible things our teachers and staff do for our students at SMNW, PTSA and the FRESHMAN CLASS will host a Staff Tailgate on Wednesday, May 8th during lunch. We will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and desserts. The link below has spots for volunteers, food items, and monetary donations to cover the cost of the hamburgers & hot dogs. Final PTSA Meeting of '23/'24:

The final PTSA / Site Council meeting of the school year will be on May 8 at 3 pm in the SMNW Room 155

Graduation Golf Cart Drivers Needed:

SMNW Graduation is May 22. If you would like to volunteer to be a golf cart driver to help family members get to/from the parking lot and stadium, please sign up HERE.

I would encourage parents to register on the www.gradimages.com site NOW to avoid a delay in seeing the proofs of those photos.

If you have yet to purchase a yearbook, this can be done on Yearbook Distribution day which will be the week of May 17, which is Seniors' last day.

Parents and students are still available to buy a Yearbook this year on distribution day on May 17. Parents can send their students to school on that day with $70 in cash or a $70 check written out to SMNW Yearbook.

We also want to invite everyone to the ball park on Tonight MAY 10th when SMNW hosts SME in a 7 p.m. game at 3&2 East Complex on Field #1, and we celebrate the 50 years of SM Baseball. Come and enjoy the festivities and the game. Spread the word.
