Summer Nutrition Opportunities
The U.S. Department of Agriculture authorized a new permanent nutrition program called Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT), or commonly referred to as SUN Bucks. SUN Bucks provides a one-time grocery-buying benefit of $120 per eligible student during the months that schools are closed.
Program Benefits
- You will received $120 for each eligible child on a EBT card.
- Food items can be purchased during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers when school is out.
All ZESD 6 families will be receiving a notification email the beginning of June, to the primary parent/guardian email address on file, identifying student eligibility.

The Summer Meals Program was instituted to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer months when school is not in session. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

Breakfast 8:40 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Lunch 11:30 a.m.-11:50 a.m.
- All children 18 years old and younger may join us for breakfast and lunch during designated dates and times.
- All food must be consumed on school property.
- Food will be served based on walk-ins.
