SUMMER COUNTDOWN... 13 days to go but still have a lot of learning to do!

Great job to our 4th grade students! Next up, 3rd graders will begin their week of CAASPP State Testing, the week of May 20th. You've got this! If you have a 3rd Grader, make sure to refer to the testing letter for details! Make sure your student gets a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast to sustain them throughout the day!

Dear Cypress Families and Community Members,

I would like to cordially invite you to participate in our 2023-2024 Cypress Elementary Career Day Fair! Cypress Elementary strives to provide students with meaningful educational experiences. With that in mind, we are inviting professionals from various fields to share their educational background and their professional experiences with our students.

We had such a successful Career Day last year, all thanks to your participation!!

This year we will be doing things a little differently. Instead of presenters going to individual classrooms, each presenter will have a table/booth where students can explore and ask questions on their own. Props or visuals are highly recommended, but not necessary.

Career Day will be on Friday, May 24h, 2024 from 8:00am-10:00 am. Refreshments will be provided for all presenters. During your stay, students in small groups will walk up to your table and are free to ask questions and you are free to present/answer questions.

Your participation in Career Day will be the highlight of our event! Our students are appreciative, and eager to learn about your profession. The time you spend with them will resonate in their lives for many years to come.

Merwin Elementary School is hosting a monthly event:

Please prioritize the safety of our school community by strictly adhering to the parking lot rules. Following traffic guidelines and reducing your speed is crucial for a secure and efficient drop-off and pick-up process. Your commitment to these rules ensures a safe environment for our students and their families and contributes to the overall well-being of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a secure and orderly school environment.

At this time, the middle lane will remain closed, beginning at 8:00 AM. Please plan accordingly. Breakfast begins at 7:40 AM so you are more than welcomed to drop off earlier to beat the traffic. If you are parking, please be mindful when backing up and exiting the parking lot, in a safe manner.

District K-5 schools have a mandatory uniform/standardized dress policy adopted by the Board of Education. This policy provides an opportunity for students to dress neatly for school, and it helps students to look at others’ character instead of their attire.

Due to slipping and tripping issues, crocs and sandals are NOT ALLOWED as they are a safety hazard.
