Principal's Message
Hello,
I hope everyone was able to come out and enjoy "Witches!? in Salem?!". I was able to see our students perform and they did a phenomenal job! In the next couple of weeks, we will have our fall musical so be on the look-out for ticket information. Thanks to Decatur Performs for supporting the work of the DHS performing arts.
Our students working with the Decatur Prevention Initiative provided information about Red Ribbon Week. A special thanks to Ms. Terrie Moore for being our community hero in working with us on drug and alcohol awareness in the Decatur community. Please come out to the Decatur Parents Network Speaker Series tonight in the DHS Learning Commons at 6:30pm to learn about marijuana and hemp-derived Intoxicants.
Our football team remains undefeated! Go Bulldogs! Tomorrow night's home football game against Woodward Academy will be televised by Score Atlanta Broadcast. Come out and cheer for our Bulldogs as they play for the region championship. You can watch the game here if you aren’t able to attend. Please speak to your students about making good pre and post-game choices.

Activities Around DHS
Teaching as Profession Visits Global Village
This week, our students, Teaching as Profession Year 2 had a truly inspiring experience visiting the Global Village Project (GVP) school, the only school in the United States dedicated to educating refugee girls aged 11-19.
During their visit, our students shared lunch, played recess games, observed classrooms, and had the opportunity to interact with the GVP faculty and students. Witnessing the connections formed between our students and the GVP girls was heartwarming. The kindness, inclusivity, and open-mindedness displayed by our students were truly commendable.
The GVP students were so impressed by our girls that they expressed a desire for them to return every day! It was a beautiful day filled with learning, friendship, and cultural exchange. We are grateful for the opportunity to have visited GVP and to have learned more about the important work they do.
