Kura Tuatahi Toko Panui
31st October 2024
Dear Parents and Friends of our School Kia Ora/Hello/Kamusta
Kia ora koutou,
Friday is Aotearoa Celebrating Teachers Day. This a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank our amazing teachers for all they do in our schools. At Toko School we are lucky to have such an experienced and dedicated team of teachers!!!
Below is a summary of our schools attendance for Term 3. We know we had a lot of illnesses in Term 3 but this figure, 46% regular attendance, is a reminder that if our children have already had quite a bit of time off school due to illness then it is really important that they have no other days off during the term that are unjustified, for example hunting, farming, home day with mum, dad, grandparents etc. Each day away from school quickly adds up. This is also a reminder that if you do not give a reason for your child's absence they will be coded as truant. As of this term the Ministry of Education is collecting daily attendance for every school in New Zealand as they closely monitor school attendance data.
The Toko Pig Hunt was an other big success! Thank you so much to the Friends of Toko School for all their hard work organising this and the many parent volunteers that lent a hand as well. This is really appreciated.
Our annual leavers dinner will be held on Tuesday 10th December this year. An invitation to this is being sent home today.
