FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents
What a great way to finish off Term 3 with Mercy Week! Our Year Six leaders did an amazing job organising the Mercy fete for our classes. It was a pleasure to watch them prepare for their stalls and the wonderful ideas that they came up with. All money raised this week, between the Mercy Fete and the cake stall, goes to Mercy Works, enabling the sisters of Mercy to continue their good work with those less fortunate in Australia and overseas.
Our Mercy liturgy, the special talk by Sister Carmel Wringe (first Principal of Padbury CPS), and our Mercy Values Assembly, enabled the children and staff to reflect upon what it means to be a Mercy school and how we strive hard to follow these values in our daily lives.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Prayer of Catherine McAuley
My God, I am yours for time and eternity. Teach me to cast myself entirely into the arms of your loving Providence with the most lively, unlimited confidence in your compassionate, tender pity.
Grant me, O most merciful Redeemer, that whatever you ordain, or permit may be acceptable to me. Take from my heart all painful anxiety; suffer nothing to sadden me but sin, nothing to delight me but the hope of coming to the possession of you, my God and my all, in your everlasting kingdom.

Snakes on the move
Spring brings the return of sunshine, warm weather… and snakes.
As temperatures rise, these cold-blooded reptiles become more active. The easiest way to avoid a snake bite is to stay calm, stay a safe distance away and let the snake move away.
Over the winter months, snakes take cover in rubbish or dormant areas, so be mindful of this as spring/summer comes around.
- If you see a snake, NEVER touch, move or kill them (this is where the majority of bites come from)
- Do lay still if bitten
- Do try to make noise when walking through the bush as this will help move snakes on

PCPS finished a respectable 5th with some tough competition in our NIPSSA Interschool group. I’m very proud of all their efforts representing their school. The children participated in sprints, novelty events and relays and produced some excellent individual and team efforts.

P&F 2025 Plan of Events
As we come closer to the end of the school year, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the tremendous effort that has gone into the 2025 Planner. We’re excited to share that our planning for 2025 is nearing completion. This year’s process began in our June 2024 P&F meeting and took into consideration feedback from our P&F survey. We then dedicated time to working closely with each portfolio lead to explore ideas and develop budgets for the upcoming year.
We’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s input and collaboration throughout this process. Your contributions have been invaluable in shaping our plans. We look forward to presenting the final plan at our November 6th P&F meeting and are enthusiastic about the opportunities and events that 2025 will bring.
Thank you for everyone for your continued support.
