Monthly Update, April 2024

The Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Central Office and Maintenance buildings will be moving to new locations this summer to allow for more space for parking on the high school site.

Our Central Office will be in a portion of the second floor of the office building at 630 Morrison Road as a result of a three-year lease that the District has entered into. Our Central Office will be closed to the public May 29-30 to allow our staff to move locations.

We are excited to offer our Journey to Learning and High School Summer School programming again in 2024!

Our K-8 program and K-12 English Learners program are designed to provide intervention to students who need targeted support in reading and/or math. For that reason, we have moved to a referral-based system of student registration. Students will be referred by their school teams based upon academic performance criteria and need. Families of eligible students will receive written communication regarding their student’s referral for summer services, along with the invitation to register.

Families that do not receive communication regarding their student's school referral will not be eligible to register for K-8 summer programs and K-12 English Learners programs.

The registration process for high school courses, elementary special education, Kindergarten Readiness and preschool is open to all students but with limited space available.

The Middle School East ESS and FSS programs recently hosted an UNO Tournament fundraiser. The tournament had 42 players that rotated through six rounds of play. The top six players went to the championship round and played two final games to determine the winner.

The Heart and Pride Award recognizes two outstanding staff members each month who make a profound impact on our students and Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools.

This nomination form will remain open year-round and is open to any member of our staff, regardless of position.

In November 2020, voters in the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools district approved a bond and operating levy to fund Phase Two of the GJPS Master Facilities Plan.

Phase Two of the Master Facilities Plan Includes:

• Additions and renovations to High Point and Blacklick Elementary
• Additions and renovations to Middle School East
• New Lincoln High School on current site
