Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the warm weather approaches, we understand that many students may be transitioning to lighter clothing that may not have been worn since last spring or summer. We also recognize that children grow quickly, and some clothing that fit well last year may now be too short or revealing.

We kindly ask for your support in helping students come to school dressed appropriately and comfortably, while still adhering to our school dress code. The goal is to ensure a safe and distraction-free learning environment for all students.

As a reminder, our dress code includes the following guidelines:

• Students are expected to be neat and clean.

• Make-up is inappropriate for elementary students and is not allowed.

• Footwear must be worn at all times. Flip-flops and high heels are discouraged for safety reasons.

• Hats and bandanas are not permitted inside the school.

• Tops must cover the entire stomach and not expose undergarments or excessive skin. Straps should be at least 2 inches wide; spaghetti straps are not acceptable.

• Skirts and shorts must be mid-thigh length or longer.

• Pants should be properly secured at the waist and not sag to the point of undergarment exposure.

• Clothing may not display inappropriate language or images, including references to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or gang-related items.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to maintain a respectful and safe school environment. If you have any questions about the dress code, please feel free to contact the school office.

The cutoff time for entering changes into School Dismissal Manager is 1:00pm. If you need to make a change after the 1:00pm cutoff, please send an e-mail to the office at cesoffice@rsdmail.org by 1:45pm. We thank you for your cooperation and helping us ensure our students safety!

Just a reminder that we are a scent FREE school. Please do not send your student with scented hand sanitizer or lotion. We also ask that students and visitors refrain from wearing cologne, perfume or body spray. We have staff and students that are sensitive and the scents can cause an adverse reaction.
