Happy Fall!
I hope you have all been enjoying the first few days of fall - I know I have! We have one big update for this newsletter and a lot of good information so be sure to read through until the end.
Our big update is that our date for Jog-A-Thon has changed to THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10th. We will be sending out more information about the day of schedule, prizes and pledges soon!
Our first PTO meeting was a big success and I want to personally thank everyone who was able to join us. We appreciate your time and really look forward to seeing more of you at future events and meetings!
Clubs - We are looking to gauge interest in student clubs. Please click here to show your interest and/or give suggestions for possible club opportunities.
Volunteering - If you haven't had a chance to fill out the volunteer application and you would like to, please click on the link below. We have some fun activities coming up and there will be many opportunities for volunteers, big and small.
PLEASE NOTE: You are required to be an approved volunteer by NCSD before you are able to volunteer for any event at our school; this includes field trips, classroom volunteering, events, etc. Submitting this application does not sign you up for any activity with Milwaukie El Puente. Once you are approved by the district you will be able to sign up for volunteer shifts with MEP through HelpCounter. https://milwaukieelpuente.nclack.k12.or.us/resources/volunteer
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:
Jog-A-Thon
- Shifts TBD morning of October 10th
Movie Night
- We are looking for a new chair person, or persons, to Chair movie night this year.
Attendance Team
- We are partnering with the school to build a team to help support families and ensure students can make it to school every day and on time. This may include making phone calls or writing letters to check in with families and see how we can best support them and their students.
Lost and Found
- We are looking for a volunteer or two to help support our lost and found. The wonderful Alisa Meadows is currently handling our tracking and posting of lost items. As she works her magic to help ensure our kiddos come back home with their items, she could use a bit of support from one or two more volunteers. If you would like to help take photos, organize, etc. please reach out directly to lostandfound@milwaukieelpuentepto.org.
If you are interested in learning more about any of these opportunities, please send an email to volunteers@milwaukieelpuentepto.org.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns!
Thank you,
Jamie Adlawan
PTO Board President
