Prayer🙏
Take a few minutes to reflect before starting your week.
Take a few moments to appreciate the outdoors. Can you share your appreciation for the love of God's creation with your students?
What are the Virtues?
This year, the theme of Laudato Si' Week, "Seeds of Hope," calls us all to be those seeds of hope in our lives and in our world, rooted in faith and love. The theme is inspired by the Season of Creation 2024 symbol, "first fruits."
This week invites us to come together as a community to contemplate and nurture seeds of hope for our "suffering planet" (LD 2). The planet is everyone's responsibility.
Inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si', this eight-day guide seeks to motivate all people of good will to protect our Common Home through concrete actions and simple changes in the way we live. Each day a specific theme is proposed that addresses aspects of integral ecology to foster a deeper respect for creation, promote sustainable habits and deepen our commitment to a lifestyle that respects the Creator's handiwork. Each day you will find an action, ways to put it into practice, its importance and impact on our planet; as well as supporting arguments based on the magisterium of the Catholic Church and science.
Day 1 Ecological Conversion Sunday
Day 2 Sustainable Transportation Monday
Day 3 Sustainable Food Tuesday
Day 4 Renewable Energy Wednesday
Day 5 Waste Reduction Thursday
Day 6 Water Conservation Friday
Day 7 Catechesis and Integral Ecology Saturday
Day 8 Reflection and Commitment Sunday

Renaissance Star - End of Year Screening - May 6th - May 17th
Best Practices:
Conduct the assessments in the first week of the window.
Use the second week for students who were absent or students who may need to retest.
Discuss with your students that the May assessment provides an update on how each one is learning and helps you support their learning.
Review how to take the assessment and what to do when they finish the assessment.
Refresh yourself on how to administer a screening.
Sunday Gospel Challenges - Living Our Faith
Justice Challenge - May 12, 2024 • 7th Week of Easter/Feast of the Ascension
Care for Creation Tips - May 12, 2024 • 7th Week of Easter/Feast of the Ascension
As we hear the story of the Ascension this week, we think of Jesus going skyward. What do humans send skyward that are harmful to the environment? Balloons, for one. Every balloon released into the air deflates and comes down eventually, and then is often mistaken for food by fish, birds, farm animals, and even pets, leading to harm or even death. Vow to say “no” to giving balloons as gifts or a party decorations.
Have an amazing day! God loves you!
