Please walk your student(s) into the building
We are doing ALL WE CAN to make sure students are ON TIME for school! We begin instruction at 8:40 a.m., and we teach all the way until 3:20 p.m. (unless it's Wednesday--then until 2:50 pm); then, we get students ready to wrap up the day and dismiss. We are asking that adults who are bringing students to school WALK THEM IN if they are late and SIGN THEM IN. We have had an incident or two when a student did not make it to the office. Please do not assume that your presence in our office is unimportant; we value seeing you and having you sign in your student when tardy. If you find yourself doing this often, then it's time to revisit your drop-off routine. We can help. Do not hesitate to contact Principal Bailey at bailey.cynthia@westside.66.net or Counselor Mrs. Victor at victor.jennifer@westside66.net.
Being tardy disrupts your student's routine at the top of the day. It means that they do not have the start that they need. Please, please walk your student in if they are late. Thank you.
Attendance at School is IMPORTANT
Hillside Families:
Attendance at school makes a difference in your student's academic achievement. It is impossible to learn if your student is not at school. Please plan vacations around school breaks so that your student may attend as much school as is offered! Be on time, every day. We start instruction at 8:40 at the LATEST. Thank you.
Behavior at Hillside
Social Skills and Behavior at Hillside
Hillside's philosophy is that students deserve to learn social skills right along with academics. We want our students to learn how to accept feedback gracefully, how to regulate their emotions appropriately, and how to negotiate skillfully with peers. We are committed to helping all our students to learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
