MURRAY COUNTY 4-H NEWSLETTER

Congratulations to all our youth that went up and competed at the Minnesota State Fair in their respective project areas! Please see list of results below:

Murray County 4-H had one senior team and one junior participate at this event. The senior team members consisted of; Daniel Larson, Taylor Larson, Tori Reynolds, and Royalle Siedschlag. Our three junior team members were; Eli Baumgartner, Garret Reith, and Tyler Reith. The contest had one hundred and six participants with ten teams in the junior division and sixteen teams in the senior division. Here are the official results for Murray County:

Junior Team:

10th Place Team

Tyler Reith – 10th place individual in Swine

Eli Baumgartner – 9th place individual in Swine

Senior Team:

8th Place Team

Taylor Larson – High Individual in Sheep/ Goat, 9th in Beef, 5th in Swine, and 3rd Overall Senior Individual

Thank you to Brigit Lozinski for being their coach throughout the summer!

Grace N has been fortunate to be a part of the Minnesota State Arts-In program with performances going on throughout the Minnesota State Fair.

2024 High School graduates that have been a Murray County 4-H member for at least four years are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted by October 1, 2024. Scholarships will be awarded at the Fall Annual Awards Banquet.

Please complete your re-enrollment for the 2024-2025 year on September 15, 2024 (cannot be any earlier than this date otherwise it will not apply for the 2024-2025 year!). Check out our Youth Development Curriculum Library for fun, educational lesson and activity resources designed for youth workers, 4-H volunteers, and youth themselves! 86 resources and counting! We hope everyone has had a chance to recover from fair season! With that being said, we are always moving onto the "next thing," and that would be ENROLLMENT!

If you are planning on being a member of Murray County 4-H, please login into 4-H Online starting September 15 and complete the re-enrollment process! If you know someone new, this would also be a perfect time to join! They would need to complete the full enrollment process for the youth or volunteer that is wanting to participate.

Join the Murray County 4-H Ambassadors! We meet typically once a month for leadership opportunities, youth engagement, ambassador outings and service projects. Youth grades 8 and up are invited to join the Murray County 4-H Ambassadors. Fill out the attached https://z.umn.edu/MC4HAmbassador24-25 or look for the first meeting in October and join us.

Marcy Wittrock is our newest Murray County 4-H volunteer! Her kids are Owen & Paige and are involved in the Llama/ Alpaca, Poultry, Goat, and General/ Static Project Areas.
