Dear Families,
Thank you for your commitment to building relationships with our Bison community over this last Month. It’s been great to connect with you all during morning arrival, at Coffee with the Principals, and even our Zumba event held this past Saturday where we continued celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Our goal is for every family to feel connected to our bison community. It’s through intentional partnership that we can grow and support our young bison. Please feel free to connect with Ms. Landeros, our community Liaison, for more information about how you can get connected as a volunteer or join one of our amazing parent organizations such as PTA or Rosemont Dads Club.
Ms. Munves, Upper Campus
Families,
Welcome to October! As we wrap up attendance awareness month, I want to say thank you for your commitment to bringing your Bison to school, on time, each day. Our goal is to have 97% attendance or higher in each grade (and overall as a campus). Last month, we reached our overall goal and our grade level goals in 4 out of 6 grades. Every moment with our students is precious, so please continue your support to helping us reach our attendance goals. Additionally, I want to say thank you to everyone who was able to join us for Coffee with the Principals last week. We had a great turn out and enjoyed the meaningful discussion around our safety routines for Bison. Lastly, as we step into the chilly months (hopefully soon!), please remember that jackets and hoodies should be solid navy without any graphics or logos. You can find our dress code on our website. We have lots of fun events over the next few months- please read our newsletter carefully and share reminders with our community members.
From Your Counselors
Building Positive Relationships
As partners in your child's holistic development, we believe that fostering positive relationships is a crucial aspect of their emotional well-being and overall growth. In this edition of our newsletter, we would like to offer you three practical tips on how you can actively support your children in building and maintaining positive relationships with others.
1. Encourage Open Communication: Encourage your child to express their thoughts, emotions, and ideas openly and respectfully. Create a safe space where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences, concerns, and joys.
2. Teach Empathy and Understanding: Encourage your child to put themselves in others' shoes and understand their perspectives and feelings.
3. Promote Social Skills Development: Encourage your child to participate in group activities, clubs, or sports that align with their interests. Such endeavors provide ample opportunities for them to interact, collaborate, and develop teamwork skills.
Remember, building positive relationships is a lifelong skill and your support as parents and guardians plays a crucial role. By implementing these tips, you are equipping your child with the tools necessary for establishing and nurturing healthy connections. If you have any questions or need further guidance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where our children flourish.
The Counseling Department is looking forward to supporting your scholar's social-emotional, academic, and career development growth this year. Could you please complete this brief survey to help us plan and develop quality programs that best meets the needs of your scholar and family. Your input is valuable and your responses are anonymous. Thank you for your time!
