South MS Friday Blast

The energy level was high today as we head into a 3-day holiday weekend. This week band and color guard worked hard practicing for Saturday's Memorial Day Parade, 6th & 7th grade enjoyed "Lunch on the Lawn", the National Jr. Honor Society inducted new members, 6th grade toured the UBCTS and "Staycationed", and Student Council held elections for officers for next school year. I'd say it's been a busy week! 😃

Student laptops will be collected during the school day on Tuesday, June 4th. Please help us by checking with your child if he/she knows where their laptop charger is located as it will also need to be handed in at the same time as their laptop. For 6th & 7th grade, this also includes the stylus that came with their laptop. If either one or both are missing, the replacement cost is $36 for the charger and $39 for the stylus. Thanks for your help in this matter!

Hi South Families! The Color Run is less than one week away! Due to a scheduling conflict, the Color Run is now on Thursday, May 30th and will happen rain or shine. In order to help make the Color Run a success, we are still in need of some donations. The donations will be used as raffle prizes. All donations go toward your child's fundraising goal. There are prizes for the student and homerooms that fundraise the most.

Band students who will be in 7th & 8th grade for the 2024/25 school year are invited to attend Summer Band Camp at Central MS with Mrs. Apple. Click here for all the details and to sign up for this fun experience.

1. Please remind students to charge their laptops every night.
2. Please remind students of the importance of listening carefully to AM and PM announcements for up-to-the-minute information that might affect their school day schedule.
3. If your child is going to be absent from school please call the school office at 215-257-0467 to inform us of the absence, or e-mail us at SMSattendance@pennridge.org with your child's name, grade, and reason for absence (illness, family trip, etc.).
4. If your child is being dismissed early for any reason (dentist appt, doctor appt, family trip, etc.) please call the school office at 215-257-0467 or e-mail us at SMSattendance@pennridge.org with your child's name, grade, and reason for early dismissal.
5. If your child is going to be arriving late to school, please call the school office at 215-257-0467 or e-mail us at SMSattendance@pennridge.org with your child's name, grade, and reason for tardiness (overslept, not feeling well, etc.) to inform us of the late arrival.
6. Notification of absence, early dismissal, or late arrival will help us notify your child's teachers why the student is not in class. Thank you!
7. If your family has an emergency situation where your child(ren) needs to ride a different bus for a day and you are unable to reach the school for a bus pass, you should email transport@pennridge.org to explain the situation and request the temporary change of bus. This email address is monitored constantly to communicate with a driver. Any questions, please contact our transportation department directly at 215-453-2725. Thank you!
