Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. We had a wonderful month of March at WGE. We had many parent involvement events such as our PTA elections & HSA awards, ELAC & SCC meetings, and a very popular CGI math night. We keep encouraging you to participate in many of our parent learning opportunities. This month we are bringing you the Parent Technology Workshop Series, made up of four sessions where you will learn to use Google, Microsoft Word, and other applications that will help you support your child academically. These meetings will be held in English and Spanish in our campus. We hope you are able to participate in one or all of the Parent Technology Workshop Series.
On Thursday, April 3rd, is our Open House, where our school shines by demonstrating all the work the students have accomplished this year. Teachers will open the classroom doors from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Our PTA will be selling goodies to fundraise for our students. We hope you can make it to this wonderful school event.
The Spring Break will commence with a Board Holiday on Friday, April 18th, and conclude on Friday, April 25th. Classes will resume on Monday, April 28th, at 8:30 A.M. We extend our best wishes for a pleasant Easter Break, and hope you enjoy this time with friends and family.
In Partnership,
Dr. Cortez, Principal

Attendance Incentive for April
We will continue with our student incentives to reach our attendance goal of 95%. This month our attendance improved from 89.6 to 93.3%. However, we know we can improve more as the spring season begins and we'll bounce back up to 95% or higher. We encourage our students to attend school daily as here are some of the benefits:
-Consistent Learning: Regular attendance ensures you don’t miss out on key lessons, concepts, and activities, helping you build a strong foundation for understanding the material.
-Better Academic Performance: Students who attend school consistently tend to achieve higher grades, as they are present for instruction, discussions, and opportunities to ask questions.
-Increased Engagement: Attending school regularly allows you to participate in class discussions, projects, and hands-on learning experiences that enhance understanding and interest in the subject matter.
-Stronger Relationships with Teachers and Peers: Regular attendance helps students connect with their teachers and classmates, making it easier to build meaningful relationships, get personalized support, and collaborate effectively.
-Improved Time Management: Good attendance encourages students to develop strong organizational and time-management skills.
