Fourth Grade visited Lake Kegonsa State Park Last Week!
Our 4th graders took a trip to Lake Kegonsa State Park to learn valuable survival skills! They had an amazing time exploring nature and building their confidence in outdoor skills. π§π₯ A special thank you to the Verbaten's for their incredible support in making this experience possible! We couldnβt have done it without you! π
πΆ Music Notes πΌ
September 2024
As you have probably heard by now, we are using Quaver, a standards-aligned music curriculum this year. One perk of the new curriculum is that your child can login to their school account from any Internet capable device and show you what they are working on, as well as accessing extension activities. Please contact me if you have any questions about logging in at home.
All students started the year learning about Beat, Rhythm, and Meter. Many popular songs have a meter of 2, 3, or 4.
Ask your 2nd-5th graders to try to find the meter of a song you enjoy together.
Ask your K-1 students to find the steady beat with you!
Many grades are now working on a singing or voice unit.
Pictured below, Kindergarten students practice Sing, Speak, Whisper, and Shout, and 2nd graders waltz in a meter of 3. 5th graders perform Step Dance rhythms.
All major concerts will be this spring and will be open to families. You can find the schedule at this link.

School Hours 7:35-3:00
Office hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
School hours: 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Doors open at 7:35 a.m.
Please try to get your student to school by 7:35 every day. It gives your students ample time to get to their locker, chat with friends, and grab breakfast. We start our morning meeting at 7:45 and it is hard for kids to walk in late to the classroom when everyone is already begun the day.
If students are not in their classroom at 7:45 they will be marked tardy.
