Message from Mrs. Johansen
Dear Wildcat Community,
I have included a few updates in this newsletter for families.
Picture Day is scheduled for October 2nd. Please click on the link to complete the online orders through Lifetouch. More details are on the picture below.
- Interscholastic Sport Update: Congratulations to the Sandburg athletes who are participating in our Fall Sports: Cross Country, Girls Basketball, and Boys Soccer. For more information about their schedules, check out the Sandburg Sports Website and scroll down to find the calendar. Our coaches do their best to communicate any changes quickly. We appreciate your patience.
- Student Spectators at Home games: An exciting part of being in middle school is getting to stay after school to watch the home sporting events that take place in the gym. Our Lady Wildcats first home basketball game is on September 30th. Our students are able to sign up on a google form to get a ticket for each event. They can stay to watch some of the games and take an activity bus home at 3:50. An email will come to students on September 29th and students can sign up on their devices.
- Young Entrepreneurs Program Students who are interested in the Young Entrepreneurs program should read more at https://www.palatinechamber.com/yea/. September 30th is the due date for registration.
Lunch Update: At Sandburg, all students receive one free lunch from food services. If they would like to purchase an additional lunch, they may do so if there is extra food and all students have had a chance to eat one full lunch. At lunch, we have started offering Ala Carte items that are available for purchase. Students may purchase these items with cash or if they have money in their lunch accounts.
Have a wonderful week!
Erika Johansen
Sandburg Principal

Spectators at Away Athletic Events
We realize that the Middle School athletic events are fun to attend and we have enjoyed having spectators come to the games. If students choose to attend away games at Thomas Jefferson, Plum Grove, Sundling, or Winston Campus, it's expected that a parent comes with the students to the basketball game and stays the entire time.
The CHAMPS expectations for spectator behavior are the same at each school in our district. Please remember you are a representative of our school when visiting another school.
Students, from another school, who come in without a parent or guardian will not be permitted to attend the game.
A Note from the Sandburg PTSA
Sandburg parents- we could use your help! Here is a sign-up genius that gives some ideas for how you can help support this event! Thank you!!!
Students will be asked to RSVP using a google form that is sent to their email. Only students may complete this form from their student Chromebooks. They will get the google form via email on Tuesday the 24th.
