December is here! We hope you enjoyed the month of Thanks and are ready for our final month before starting the new year! Thank you to all families and students for your continued partnership. Our staff and teachers all appreciate your support. Your participation and communication is what makes WAVA a success! Our school administrators and teachers look forward to working with your students each day. If you ever are in need of support, have questions or need direction, please reach out.

Congratulations to our WAVA Esports League, we have players and teams that have made it to National Playoffs for Valorant, Rocket League, Chess and Fortnite. We are cheering you on! Also congratulations to our WAVA 8th grade student Ilyannie, she recently competed in a WA State Civics Spelling Bee and placed in the Top 10. We also have students that placed in the Top 3 for our Photography competition and that are starting to compete in Robotics, Art, Cooking and other clubs or competitions! Our WAVA and National Zone are also a great place for connecting and open M-F! Find out more about the zone here.

With holiday time here, you can find outings and opportunities for connecting with others. If you don't see an outing, post your own on the Learning Coach Community or reach out to a teachere! Outing,

Check it out! We are excited to offer Stride Tutoring to provide resources and tools in support to our WAVA K12 students. This service provides trained tutoring for a variety of subjects and grades. Just select the focus area you need support in, search the tutoring staff schedule, schedule online and begin!

• Develop skills to improve organization, study habits, and time management.

• Work through personal problems that may affect academics or relationships.

We offer Clubs that meet weekly, competitions, online socializing through the K12 Zone, and Learning Coach Chats. Each year K12 offers competitions throughout the year! Compete in Innovation, Photography, Baking, Art, Robotics, and our Esports Team. Students can compete and make it to a National Level with prizes, trips and more. Check the monthly offerings and participate!! https://www.k12.com/stride-competitions/

We have monthly outings at WAVA! Every Friday 12-2pm we have rotating outings at various park locations throughout WA State. We also have outings that teachers host throughout the year like library days, museum visit, tours and more! Be sure to check out Outings link and join in on the fun! These are optional and not required! If you don't see an outing in your area you can always request one with your teacher or post one to the Learning Coach Community.

At WAVA we have Testing and Assessments throughout the year for our students. Testing is in-person at various locations across WA state. We do our best to make the experience as seamless as possible and positive for all students and families. Our team communicates regularly and provides information for all of your planning needs!
