Inside Scoop
Hockinson High School - 2024-2025
October 25, 2024
Hello, Hawks:
Happy beautiful Friday! It's a busy week in athletics with Senior Nights for Football and Cheer (tonight) and Girls Soccer (Saturday night). We had 24 students take the ASVAB and over 140 students take the PSAT in our effort to prepare our Hawks to LAUNCH. Next week, we kick off an amazing arts program with Band's Fall Concert on Tuesday night, and the start of the theater program's rendition of The Giver. Our students are amazing and the next several days will prove me right!
Speaking of amazing, Mrs. Elizabeth Fortier, an English teacher, was honored at Washington State University-Vancouver last night for her outstanding service to students. Learn Here Project annually acknowledges the quality of our educational system and honors individuals who go above and beyond for our students and schools. Congratulations, Mrs. Fortier!

Theater Update - The Giver
Hockinson Theatre Company's production of The Giver opens next week! Over 40 Hockinson High School students are involved in this production and have been working incredibly hard for the past six weeks. In The Giver, a seemingly perfect, controlled society eliminates pain and strife by erasing all personal memories of the past. When young Jonas is chosen to inherit the position of Receiver of Memory, he uncovers the dark secrets beneath the surface and must decide whether to embrace conformity or risk everything for the chance at true freedom. This powerful story explores the cost of safety and the value of individuality.
There are six opportunities to see these amazing Hawks onstage!
Band Update
Please join us for our Fall Concert Tuesday October 29th @ 7pm in the MPR. We will hear from Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band as well as hosting Washougal.
The HHS band was joined by our HMS 8th graders for 8th grade night in the stands and on the field at last week’s footbal game. They sounded amazing and had a really great time. We can’t wait to see them all in the HHS uniform next year!
