November News - Gratitude for the Season Ahead
As we move deeper into the heart of the fall season, November brings the perfect opportunity for reflections, gratitude and growth. It's a month to celebrate the progress we have made so far this school year and to acknowledge the dedication and resilience shown by our students, families, and staff.
November is always a time to be thankful and express gratitude not just in spirit but also in action. Our schools are filled with examples of kindness and community mindedness that remind us of the strong bonds we share. I'm continually inspired by the way our students and staff step up to make a difference within their school communities!! This sense of community and support is at the core of what Acadia Parish represents and it's what makes our district a special place to learn and grow!
As we look ahead to the winter months, we remain committed to academic excellence and student well-being. Our team is hard at work reviewing curriculum goals, planning engaging lessons and finding ways to support each student's unique needs.
November 8 is recognized as National STEM Day. This day is dedicated to inspiring curiosity and innovation in the fields of Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics. It involves equipping our students with critical thinking schools, creativity and collaboration. I encourage our students to use STEM activities to keep asking questions, keep experimenting, and never stop discovering!!
November 11 is Veterans Day and our district would like to express our deep gratitude to the brave men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. The sacrifices made by those who have worn the uniform to protect our freedoms and ensure the safe of our country cannot be ignored. Many of our schools will be hosting events and activities to commemorate this important day, and I encourage you to take part in these moments. To our veterans within our school community and beyond: we thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and your dedication. We are forever grateful!!
November 20 is National Education Support Professionals Day. This is a time to recognize the incredible contributions of our education support staff including paraprofessionals, custodians, secretaries, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers. These dedicated individuals play an essential role in ensuring our schools run smoothly and safely everyday. Their hard work does not go unnoticed and Acadia Parish School Board is deeply thankful for all that you do.
I'd like to express my personal gratitude for the support and trust you place in our district. I am incredibly thankful to lead a district that prioritizes education, values inclusion and always strives to support each other. Together, we're building a brighter future for our children. Wishing you and your families a wonderful November and a blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
