Talented Artists
Over 50 students performed before an enthusiastic audience last Saturday. Older students emceed the Talent Show while others sang, played piano, danced, and even performed a magic act for the crowd. It was a great day for students to showcase their talents in front of their families and classmates. Good job everyone! Please visit the school's Google Doc folder to see the pictures.

Solar Eclipse Participation
A solar eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8, between 12:51 and 3:22 p.m. The eclipse will reach its peak at precisely 2:07 p.m. with the moon covering up to 94% of the sun. It's worth noting that the next solar eclipse visible from the United States will occur on August 23, 2044!
Teachers will be facilitating lessons about the eclipse on Monday, April 8, and the district has acquired viewing glasses for each staff member and student to ensure everyone can safely participate in this event.
While this is an exciting event, we understand that some parents may not want their child to participate in the viewing of the eclipse. Please complete and submit the solar eclipse form by Friday, April 5, if you DO NOT want your child to participate in the viewing of the eclipse.
Women in History
National Women's History Month was established by presidential proclamation in order to draw attention to and improve the focus on women in historical studies. It began in New York City on March 8, 1857, when female textile workers marched in protest of unfair working conditions and unequal rights for women. Women’s History Week was instituted in 1978 in an effort to begin adding women’s history into educational curricula.
Health Moves Minds Walk
In just a month, Sprague School students will be invited to participate in the “Health Moves Minds Walk.” We encourage students to participate in this fundraiser that benefits health and physical education programs focusing on wellness and mental health. Also, this year a portion of our proceeds will go to our school to help replenish recess equipment, which all students at Sprague can enjoy.
During the day on Thursday, April 18, in school activity, Health Moves Minds Walk Sprague students, accompanied by teachers, will walk from Sprague to Ryerson Woods and back. The walk is designed to educate our students and staff on the importance of overall wellness and mental health, with further education occurring in physical education classes at school. It is through this program that we can inspire healthy habits and teach kids to thrive physically and emotionally.
We look forward to your child’s participation in our Health Moves Minds School Walk event. Please take a moment to fill out the online permission form, to give consent for your child’s participation in this event and to have a popsicle at the end of the walk.
Students without parental permission will not be allowed to walk, so please be sure to fill out the online permission form.
Read the e-notice that went out earlier this week for more information.
Volunteer information coming soon.
Lost and Found Items
Parents please look closely at items left behind by your students. Claim the clothing, water bottles, hats, and more by Friday, March 22. Unclaimed items will be donated during Spring Break.
Change in Student Dismissal Plans
If your student's dismissal plans change during the day you are probably notifying the school through the Pikmykid App. At times, it may be necessary to sign out of the app and sign back in to see your student again. You should now be able to see your child in your account. If you are still having an issue, please contact your school office.
Pikmykid App Set Up
If you haven't set the app up on your mobile device, here are some simple instructions.
Download the app to register or access the online version.
*Register – How to Video.
*If you have already registered please log out of the app under your account and log back in. Schedules previously inputted in the app will still be there.*
IMPORTANT! EVERYONE has been defaulted to a bus rider status. If your student does not ride the bus you will have to make the change in PMK.
The choices are easy to follow. Only ONE default mode is allowed. The default has currently been set to the bus for all students.
Students who have Permanent Dismissal Notes on file/in the classroom must update this information in PMK.
