Eagles' Extra
April 28, 2024
Highlights of the Week
As most people are aware we had sad news at our school this week. Bob Stull, who has driven bus for Donalda School for over 20 years, passed away. It was a shock to many of us, and he will be truly missed. Throughout the week I have had opportunities to reminiscing with some of our students about Bob, and there are many fond memories, especially his one liners. Bob's funeral is on Friday, May 17th, 1 pm, at the Stettler Funeral Home.
Our junior high badminton players competed at the CARA tournament this week. Congrats to all our athletes as everyone played hard and demonstrated sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Special congratulations to Zeph Finlan and Micheal Reid, who finished third in Boys Grade 7 Doubles and Danica Bjorge and Katrina Siemens, who were the Grade 8 Girls Doubles champions and will represent the Donalda Eagles at CWAJHAA next week!
Seed Fundraiser - Live Plants Pick-Up
Live plants that were purchased through the Seed Fundraiser can be picked up at Echoglen gardens May 6th through May 21st.
Grade 1&2 Met their Fundraising Goal
The Grade 1 and 2s have an official total, and after all of their fundraising efforts were complete....they raised $1049, surpassing their goal of $1000!
The Grade 1 and 2 class will be visiting the Camrose and Area Animal Shelter Society on May 8th to go on a tour of their facility and drop off our donation in person. This has been an excellent, real-life, hands-on experience, to help them see how communities care for each other, how fundraising and volunteering works, making them more familiar with coins and bills, and the value each holds.
