Wellness Committee - Jack Adkins with Agriculture Instructor Mrs. Fallon Jackson
- We will return next year with information about supporting faculty, staff, and student wellness for the 24-25 school year!
Students in the Agricultural Engineering Institute transitioned to mowing the property and servicing farm equipment to prepare for the summer hay season. Summer student workers will help maintain the property during the summer months. In August, the FFA Career Development Event Small Engines team will compete in the contest at the Kentucky State Fair.
Agribusiness - Equine Studies Program
Students in Equine Science (Level 1) finished the year with a hands-on final, demonstrating skills and concepts that would make them valued members of any barn staff.
Students in Agribusiness and Farm Management (Level 2) learned about life after high school, including budgeting, equine-related careers, postsecondary equine programs, and what to expect after graduation.
Students in Agricultural Sales and Marketing (Level 3) learned to connect trucks and trailers, load and unload horses from trailers, and how to operate a variety of farm equipment. Congratulations to our students completing the Agribusiness: Equines Studies Program!
Food Science and Processing Program
Throughout the summer at upcoming markets on campus, you can purchase one pound sausage rolls for $5. Students fed the hog here on campus!
Pre-Veterinary Studies Program
Students will prepare for the FFA Career Development Event Wildlife Management in August.
Foundational Courses
In Agriculture Communications, students finished the semester by learning about photography, including communication forms, managing a crisis, social media marketing, and messaging, all through visuals.
In Principles of Agricultural Science and Technology, students learned about every pathway offered at our school and completed a survey to reflect on the year. Students most enjoyed lessons on pollination, egg grading, the tragedy of the commons, and Supervised Agricultural Experiences.
Health and Physical Education
Spanish
Students in Spanish 2 created a job advertisement in Canva as their final project.
Students in Advanced Spanish 3 created a storybook using BookCreator as their final project.
Social Studies
Students in Advanced United States History took a deep dive through America's Civil Rights Movement and completed a final exam.
Students in Advanced World History journeyed through the 1900s using a multicultural lens to examine how changes during this century have an effect on us in modern times then completed a final exam.
Work-Based Learning
Interns for the 24-25 school year should secure their work sites and continue checking their email and Remind accounts throughout the summer to remain aware of updates, instructions, etc., from Work-Based Learning Coordinator Mrs. Nicki Jones and employers. All interns will participate in an on-boarding meeting with a parent/guardian and a work site supervisor in August. Watch for upcoming dates and times!

Interns at The Kentucky Castle presented their expansion project ideas to managers and school administrators, concluding our sixth year of partnership with this organization. Middle school students from our satellite agricultural education programs will begin work this summer. See the below photos.
