Caruso Connect - March 7th
Caruso Middle School is an inclusive and vibrant community where Blue Jays
take ownership of their social-emotional and academic growth by supporting,
challenging, and celebrating self and others.
Good Evening Blue Jay Families:
We would like to start this week's Caruso Connect with a few reminders for our families. These have been in place all year however, we feel that it would not hurt to send them home again:
-The policy for dismissing students not feeling well is:
- They must first go to the nurse's office.
- The nurse will contact home about students going home.
- Please remind your students to NOT use their phones during the day. All cell phones should remain in a student’s locker or out of sight during school hours. If you need to make contact with your student, please call the office. Students who violate our phone policy will receive a check in.
- We do not allow any food delivery services during school hours. However, Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to bring a lunch for their student.
- When dropping off forgotten items, please ring the front doorbell. Front office will buzz you in to place your items on the tables in the front hall. Please label them with the sticky notes we have placed out there for all to use.
- It is NOT necessary to drop off water for your students. We have multiple filtered water fountains throughout the school to provide hydration for your students.
- If your student needs to leave for an appointment, please ring the front doorbell, and we will call your student down to the office to sign out and meet you at your car.
- When ringing the front office door bell we as that you remain OFF your phones during school hours. This allows us to better serve you.
We appreciate everyone reviewing our policies and procedures, as they are meant to help create a safe school environment for our entire community.
Another update to our 5Essentials survey! A continued thanks to those families that have completed it, our current family response rate is 18% and, in order to receive the results we need a response rate of 20%+. If you have not, please do so. The survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. To take the Parent Survey, please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey to begin.
