Falling in Love with Learning!
We hope the year is off to a great start! As we enter February, we want to provide you with some important updates and insights into what’s happening at school.
2nd Quarter Grades and Progress
2nd Quarter grades have been posted to FOCUS. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress, we encourage you to reach out to their teacher and set up a parent conference. Your involvement and communication are vital as we work together to support your child's learning and growth.
Academic Focus for the Second Half of the Year
As we move into the second half of the year, you’ll notice an even stronger academic push. Our faculty has reviewed the Progress Monitoring 2 data and is working intentionally to meet each student’s needs, helping to close any skill gaps. Teachers will also begin shifting toward encouraging more student independence. Throughout the first half of the year, scaffolds were provided to meet students where they were. Now, we will gradually reduce these supports to foster independence, preparing students for success at their current grade level.
How You Can Help at Home
Your continued support at home is crucial as we strive to help your child reach their full potential. One of the most important things you can do is promote literacy at home. We recommend setting aside at least 20 minutes each night for reading. In addition to traditional books, everyday activities can help strengthen reading and problem-solving skills. Try reading road signs in the car, writing notes and letters to friends and families and sending them off in the mail, following recipes and cooking together, building toys with instructions, or reading grocery lists while shopping. These activities may seem small, but they provide valuable learning experiences that support academic growth and develop essential skills for success in school.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work to provide the best learning environment for your child. If you ever have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
