Greetings Richardson Families,

Thank you to everyone who attended or volunteered at last week’s PTA fundraiser at Culver’s! It was a great success, and we appreciate your support. The money raised will go towards purchasing new recess equipment, helping to keep our students active and engaged during playtime. Below, you can see photos of students enjoying the soccer nets and flag football flags, which were previously provided by the PTA.

This Friday, we invite you to join us for another PTA fundraising event that’s all about family fun! Our PTA has organized Snake Discovery, a unique event for the whole family to enjoy. Please see the flyer below for more details, and we look forward to seeing everyone there!

We’re also excited to connect with families at our upcoming conferences. If you haven’t yet, please click the link below to schedule your conference time. At conferences, you’ll receive a paper copy of ISD622 choice boards to use in case of any unexpected school closures due to weather. While the fall weather has been beautiful so far, we know how quickly it can change in Minnesota, so it’s always best to be prepared.

Veteran's Day slideshow & gift bags

Each year at Richardson we invite families to send in photos of the veterans in their families to add to our slideshow. This slideshow will be showed in all class on Veteran's Day. Please send photos, including name veteran, branch of military and years of service (also include which Richardson student they are related to) to Amber Hinz at ahinz@isd622.org . *** Due date: Wednesday, November 6th***

We also love to show our appreciation for the veterans in our Richardson community by creating simple gift bags for them.

Weather-related closure procedures

In the event that there is a need to close school due to a weather-related closure, ISD622 has chosen to provide an educational experience at home to our K-5 students through the use of academic choice boards.

The academic choice board will provide instruction in the event of a short-term school closure of four days or less. Many of the activities can be repeated for more than one day. The activities listed take into consideration that many families may not have access to a device and/or the internet on these days. Please note that any activities listed on the academic choice boards that require technology to complete are optional/supplemental in nature.

On the day of a closure, teachers will also send out a link to the district website where a digital version of the academic choice boards are available to families. This communication will be sent out by 10:00 AM with information and different ways to communicate with your students’ teacher for the day. They will also be listed on the district website. If you have questions about the activities for the day of a closure, feel free to contact your student’s teacher(s). Teachers will be available via phone and email from 10:00 AM through the end of the school day.
