Copper Creek Bobcat Blast

DVUSD guidelines do not allow a specific teacher to be requested, but may allow parents to provide input on their child’s needs and the type of teacher that may best serve their child’s needs. It is our belief at Copper Creek that teachers and parents can provide the best education possible for our children by working together. The responsibility for assignment of students resides with the principal and teachers working together to place students in a learning environment that best meets the needs of the student. Also keep in mind that teachers may change grade levels and/or schools which also adjusts class placement. Therefore, providing detailed information regarding the preferred learning environment and your child’s needs is critical. If you have multiple children, you will need to fill out one form per child.

We will take the following information into consideration when placing your child with a classroom that best fits your child’s profile.

Just a friendly reminder that state testing is right around the corner. Some important reminders:

• Students need to be on time and here for the entire testing period. (Please schedule appointments on non-testing days)

• Be sure to get a good night's sleep before the test.

• Eat a healthy breakfast in the morning.

• Make sure you have wired headphones.

• Stay positive and focused - You got this!

Bruster's Ice Cream Night!

(There will be no flier for this event, please just mention Copper Creek when ordering)

Please join us on Thursday, April 4th from 4 - 7pm at Bruster's Real Ice Cream Arrowhead at

17115 N 51st Ave, Glendale, AZ 85308. A percentage earned will go directly to our Band Dept! We hope to see you there!

Our PTSA general and nominating meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at 3:45pm in the library. If you are interested in running for our PTSA Executive Board, please make sure to attend this meeting. Individuals must have been a member of the PTSA by 3/1/2024 in order to run. This is a NON voting meeting.

Chair positions are also available for a person who is on the fence about joining the board, who only has so much time to offer or someone that just wants to express their ideas, plan an event or loves social media!

Snack Bar Update for Bobcats

A few friendly reminders regarding the snack bar:

*Snack bar is for 1st - 6th graders

*Students can purchase up to two items

*No buying or sharing items for other students

*Parents do have the option to restrict or limit the amount of items a student can purchase (please contact Ms. Kay in the cafeteria if you would like to adjust or restrict snack bar access)

What Parents will Need to Enroll Their Student

• Original birth certificate or a certified copy
• Immunization records
• Proof of residence (utility bill, house payment receipt, rent receipt, escrow document or lease agreement)
• Form of Identification
• Copy of legal guardian or custody papers if applicable

Open Enrollment for the 2024/2025 school year will open to parents on October 2nd, 2023 at 8:00 AM. If you want your student to attend a school that is not their home school, you will need to apply for open enrollment. Applications will be reviewed starting sometime in January. If you have a current 6th grade student and they would like to follow Copper Creek's track and Hillcrest Middle School is not their home school, you MUST complete open enrollment and choose Hillcrest or the school of your choice.
