School is Out for Summer!
SAVAGE Pride
This year has been amazing, with tons of achievements and progress in so many areas, all helping us create a positive and enriching environment for our students. Nine Seniors graduated this Spring from Salmon River Jr/Sr High School and will be moving on to their next chapter in life. We also expanded our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program with new welding equipment and a plasma table, and will be giving students additional hands-on learning opportunities.
We also made great strides in hiring and keeping talented staff, thanks to better wages and benefits. This stability has really upped the quality of education we offer. On the safety front, we nailed it by getting grants for new security equipment, making sure our schools are safe for all.
School culture has also improved a lot. We've seen more positive interactions and a stronger sense of community, which is reflected in higher test scores and more engaged students. Our efforts to be more transparent, like the new website and updated communication plan, have really helped us connect better with the community and keep everyone informed.
These accomplishments show our commitment to always improving and making sure every student has a great educational experience.
Thank you again to our awesome canyon community. We passed the annual supplemental levy that helps to maintain our operating budget for the next year. I also want to give a shoutout to the teachers, board members, bus drivers, food service, paraprofessionals, janitors, maintenance staff, IT, Safety Team, secretaries, Leadership Team, Boosters, PTO, City Council, the Chamber, and everyone else who helped make this a successful year.
As I reflect on the past school year, I am filled with pride and optimism for the future of our district.
Sincerely,
Trish Simonson
