TEACHER CADET INTEREST
My name is Michael Vereb, and I love my job as a teacher! I am the Teacher Cadet instructor at Loudoun Valley and encourage your Junior or Senior to consider enrolling in the class. Teacher Cadet is a course available for rising Juniors and Seniors that will help them learn more about teaching as a career. Students explore childhood development and how students learn, experience what it's like to be in the classroom as they observe and practice under an experienced mentor and discuss life in the profession. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive college credits from Shenandoah University and sign a Letter of Intent if they wish to return to Loudoun County as a teacher! Please email Michael.Vereb@lcps.org if you have any questions about this exciting program!

Tutoring
This year, Loudoun Valley’s NHS chapter is continuing its peer tutoring program, with goals of increasing the usage and awareness of the program.
NHS members have indicated the subject areas in which they feel comfortable tutoring, ranging from World History to Calculus BC! Students will have the opportunity to directly fill out a Google Form to request a peer tutor and will then be connected to someone who fits their needs.
Here is the link to the form which students may use to request a tutor: https://forms.gle/YY63CuWvzsZV3yLN9
Tutors will facilitate the learning process with a strong emphasis on academic integrity.

TESTING
PSAT SCORES
If your child took the PSAT 8/9 or PSAT/NMSQT at Loudoun Valley on October 17th, their score will be released by the College Board on November 7th.
There are 2 options for accessing this score:
- Your child can log in using their College Board account. Please note that LCPS staff do not have access to student College Board accounts. If students are having problems accessing their College Board accounts, please contact the College Board helpline at 1-866-433-7728.
- Students can access the BigFuture School mobile app if they provided their mobile number during exam setup.
If students are unable to access the score report this way, we will be distributing hard copies of score reports during homeroom on Monday, November 11th.
For more information about your child’s PSAT scores, such as the score structure, what the score report includes, and how to understand scores, please click here.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Stecura, School Testing Coordinator, at melissa.stecura@lcps.org.
AP TESTING
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will offer Advanced Placement (AP) tests during the College Board's 2025 test administration window of May 5-16, 2025. Students must register by Friday, November 8, 2024. See details below.
Students enrolled in LCPS and Loudoun residents who are home-instructed and have a current Notice of Intent (NOI) on file for the 24-25 school year may register to test.
Registration for testing will occur through a student's AP course. The AP teacher will provide students with a join code which they must use to access an online portal (MyAP Classroom). The MyAP Classroom portal contains instructional resources, practice tests, and tools to manage test registration.
If a student is not enrolled in an AP course, but still wants to test, they should contact their school’s Testing Coordinator to register.
Students attending the Academies of Loudoun should read the important notice regarding test registration.
Students must have a current College Board account or must create one prior to using the join code. Students must retain their username and password, as well as use their correct Student ID during the account registration process.
Students must register for their AP test(s) by Friday, November 8, 2024 within the College Board's online portal (MyAP).
Requests to register for an AP test after November 8, if accepted, may result in a $40 fee. Students who cancel a test after November 15, 2024 will incur a $40 cancellation fee. Students who register for a test but do not take the test will incur a $40 unused test fee. These fees will be charged even if LCPS is paying for the cost of the test and are required by the College Board.
LCPS will pay for the first four AP tests each enrolled LCPS student attempts. The four tests are cumulative across the student's high school tenure, beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. Payment will be required for any additional tests after reaching the test limit. For the 2024-2025 school year, each exam is $90.00, except AP Seminar and AP Research, which are $138.00.
For additional information regarding AP tests, please visit the College Board’s website or LCPS’ Office of Assessment Services website.

Ms. Stecura is Loudoun Valley’s School Testing Coordinator. Her office is located in the main office. The best way to contact Ms. Stecura is through email at melissa.stecura@lcps.org.
