Message From Ms. Agans
Good afternoon, Bears and Bear Families!
Our first week is off to a fantastic start! Last night, I hosted a virtual Teams meeting to catch parents up on what is going on at the Bridge. The meeting was recorded and posted, so feel free to check it out later if you missed it. Other things to know about this week and the start of school:
- Teachers should be inviting you to join Canvas with a code. This allows parents to access their child’s class information, including assignments and upcoming assessments.
- Carpool in the mornings and afternoons – please DO NOT pick up your child from a parking lot during the morning or afternoon carpool. Please follow the carpool line at the front of the school and pick up your student along the front sidewalk. Hint: The carpool is usually done by 3:50 pm. If you want to avoid the traffic, please pick up your child at 3:45 – you will get in and out quickly. ;)
- Online and Dual Enrollment classes – as we advertised in the spring, any student taking an online or dual enrollment class is required to be off campus for that period. There are no exceptions. Please understand that there is no location on campus to house the number of students who take online or Dual Enrollment courses. We have arranged schedules so that online and Dual Enrollment courses are at the beginning or end of the day so that students can come onto campus late or leave early. Students found on campus during an online or Dual Enrollment course will be sent to the office to wait for their class to start. The third time a student is found on campus when they should be home due to online or Dual Enrollment classes, the student will be dropped from online / Dual Enrollment and placed in a face-to-face class.
- The state requires schools to do all types of emergency drills in the first two weeks of school. We always inform students of a drill before it takes place, but we wanted to make you aware in case your child has questions.
- Senior Privilege was discussed in our Senior Class Meeting on Tuesday. More details on Senior Privilege were discussed in our community meeting, but I wanted to make you aware that seniors can earn the Privilege to be off campus for lunch over the next four weeks.
- Until that Privilege is earned and given, students are NOT allowed off campus during lunch or B². Students caught leaving or coming back on campus when they are supposed to be in the building will be given a discipline consequence.
- By Friday, all students should have their ID. Students are required to wear IDs on campus at ALL times. Students on campus without their ID face disciplinary consequences.
- We are doing school trips this year! More information is in the online meeting from last night. Excited about this opportunity!
- Also, this year, we are opening up class rings for purchase by all grade levels. This used to be a junior/senior privilege, but we think it is an opportunity for all students to show their Cambridge pride. We are the first school to do this and are excited to grant this right of passage to our students. Students who purchase through 3rd Ascent get lifetime ring sizing on the ring – so they can wear it all four years and beyond!
- Hopewell Middle School has moved their 7th/8th grade Curriculum Night to August 29th so that there is no conflict with the Cambridge Curriculum Night on August 22nd. Thank you for your patience as we worked out this scheduling conflict for our families!
Before I sign off, I want to make you aware that our Assistant Principal, Dr. Jeff Harrell, will be out of the office during the fall semester. Dr. Harrell is an Air Force Reservist, and he has been called up for training. While we will miss him this semester, we are proud to help cover as he serves our country, and we will be happy to welcome him back in January. A substitute Assistant Principal will be joining us in September to help us navigate through Thanksgiving. More information will be sent home as we confirm dates.
Thank you for your consistent support! Please reach out if I can be of any assistance. Be safe. Be the BRIDGE. GO BEARS!

Upcoming Schedules
Week One: August 5 - 8
We continue to be on an adjusted bell schedule for the first week of school. Students are either engaging in class meetings, receiving student IDs and devices, or reviewing important information in the 2024-2025 Student and Parent Handbook. You can view this week's bell schedule below or download a copy from our website at Week of August 5 Bell Schedule.
Update: Fall Testing - Week of August 12
Please be aware that we have changed next week's Fall Testing schedule.
MAP Testing:
Next week will be benchmark testing for all students on NWEA MAP. Students will be testing during an extended advisement (B2 ) period on Tuesday, August 13, and Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Students without advisement (B2) on their schedule should plan to report to school during this time, and testing locations will be available in the front lobby on testing days.
Students can only test on a school-issued device. Please remind your student they need to bring their school-issue device that day and ensure the device is charged each day for their advisement class. Device distribution continues this week: 11th grade today (Thursday) and 12th grade on Friday. Students who did not receive a device on their grade's distribution day should visit the Media Center before next week's testing begins to receive their device.
MAP Testing is a required test for all students and those absent will be pulled from class to make up the test.
Please see the attached schedule or visit Cambridge Bell Schedules to view next week's bell schedule.

The observer role can be given to parents, family members or guardians to give them visibility into the student's Canvas courses. Once the observer is paired with their student(s) they will be able to see the courses that those student(s) are in.
For instructions on how to generate the student pairing code, view or download the "How to Guide" below.

Student Announcements: Cambridge Headlines
Students are asked to view their Cambridge Headlines each morning to stay informed at Cambridge. These student announcements are delivered to them through their student FCS email and posted on the homepage of www.cambridgehs.org. They include important events, student activities, including athletics, and club information. Please encourage your students to check each day for the latest news.
School Begins at 8:20 am
School begins at 8:20 a.m., and students are expected to be in their assigned classroom at that time. Doors are locked at that time. Students arriving to school late must enter the front door and check in at the attendance office. Students who are off campus for the first period must show their ID, with their sticker indicating they are off campus for the first period, to be let in the door. New IDs and stickers will be distributed this week.
Reminder: Students taking FVS or GAVS classes, Dual Enrollment, and Senior Reduction during the school day must be off campus. If leaving campus for the day, students are not required to check out.
Counselor Availability
During the first two weeks of school, counselors will have sporadic access to emails as they will work directly with students and the scheduling team to ensure all students have a full schedule. Emails sent to counselors about schedule changes will not be answered and other email requests will have a delayed response. If you or your child has an emergency that requires support from our Counseling team, please email your child’s Assistant Principal or Social Worker, Kaitlyn Lynch (lynchk2@fultonschools.org), who will then loop in your counselor for support.
Device Distribution
School-issued devices will be distributed during the first week of school during extended B2 on the following days:
- Tuesday, August 6: Freshmen & CLAWS Mentors - complete
- Wednesday, August 7: Sophomores - complete
- Thursday, August 8: Juniors
- Friday, August 9: Seniors
If a student did not receive a device, they can stop by the Media Center to pick one up.
New this Year: All students are required to check out a school-issued device! The district requires that students use a school-issued device for testing such as MAP, PSAT, and EOCs. Students can use personal devices for daily work, but on testing days, they will be required to bring their school laptops to participate in testing.
Device User Agreements will be sent by the district through Campus Parent and parent e-signatures will be required.
Any device from the 2023-2024 school year will need to be returned as soon as possible to the Media Center. Students will not be able to receive an updated device until the previous year's device is returned.
Please be aware of the following requirements for students using personal devices for their daily work:
- Your student will be required to bring a working device to school every day to use for class.
- Your student is still expected to follow the acceptable technology use policy, or they will be blocked from WIFI access and possibly have disciplinary actions.
- School technology support personnel do not troubleshoot issues with personal devices.
Please contact Laura Morgan at MorganL1@fultonschools.org in the Media Center with any device questions.
