Parent Workshop - Gangs
We are thrilled to bring you these amazing parent workshops with Dra. Beatriz Villarreal. Her presentations are in high demand and those who have seen her in person usually come back and bring their friends! Come check it out! English interpretation available.
Scholarly Attendance
We thank you for your efforts to send your student to school every day on time. This year, we'll be celebrating Scholarly Attendance, when students attend school 95% or more of the time. Attendance improvement also gives us a reason to celebrate as we recognize positive attendance efforts and changes over time for our students. Did you know that Chronic Absenteeism, when students are absent more than 10% of the year, can have major implications for learning? Check out the facts below and join us in expecting and celebrating scholarly attendance!

Help Support our Community!
Our ASB students are hosting a schoolwide Food Drive to help local families in need this holiday season! We’re off to an amazing start, collecting over 160 items in just the first three days! The drive will end on November 19th, so there’s still time to make a difference! Students can bring in canned goods and non-perishable items each morning from 7:45 to 8:10 in front of C-5. Let’s work together to support our community!
Letter about Safety
Staff/Parent/Guardian/Caregiver Communication
After successfully piloting a school safety and audio system at two of our schools (including Chavez Middle School) during the 23-24 school year, at the June 2024 Board of Education meeting, the Board approved installing this system at all OUSD schools.
This enhancement serves as an update to our current bell and intercom system. Each classroom teacher will have a device on a lanyard that amplifies sound throughout the
classroom during every lesson. Every student, no matter where they sit, will be able to clearly hear the teacher and information being taught.
Along with audio and video capabilities, the new device incorporates a safety notification button to alert administration and front offices of any emergency situation. In the event of a classroom emergency, the teacher can activate the camera for office staff to view the situation. The device identifies the exact location to initiate school safety protocols. Further, and only in the event of a lockdown or active shooter emergency, Oceanside Police Department can utilize these same cameras to access views into classrooms and throughout the school.
Thank you for your constant support as we work to provide a safe and modern learning environment for all!
