Spring Testing Info. and Schedule

Students in Grades 3-8 will take the English Language Arts (ELA), reading, and mathematics portions of the test. Students Grades 5 and 8 will also take the science portion.

The district test window for WVGSA grades 3 - 8 is April 29-May 24. It varies by grade level. Check with your school for specific grade level testing dates.

You may be wondering why spring testing is so important. The WVGSA provides important information that can be used to help improve instruction for each individual student. Results from the assessment can help teachers and school administrators pinpoint areas of strengths and weaknesses and identify possible achievement gaps to help teachers adjust instruction for each student.
