We wanted to reach out to you with some information regarding a new PowerSchool update and option to help us better connect and involve our families in their student’s progress.
We recently learned that PowerSchool has the ability to send out a weekly email Progress Report of students' current grades and attendance. We feel this will be beneficial for several reasons:
You no longer have to log into PowerSchool to check for weekly grades. It will be sent directly to your email box!
Increases your ability to efficiently support your child’s success and opens more lines of communication for family|school partnerships.
Provides more opportunities for you to know where your student is academically instead of waiting for the mid-quarter or end of quarter grades.
It also gives you an update to tardy and attendance numbers to help you know if your child attended class or not.
Beginning December 2nd, you will start to receive this weekly email Gradebooks should be updated by Monday so that students have a clear understanding of where their grade stands in each class. Grades will fluctuate week to week depending on when assignments and tests are entered as well as when students complete late work and/or do a re-test.
There are additional add on reports that some families chose to have sent to their email. If you had opted to receive these, they will be “turned off” with the new update, but you are more than welcome to add them back in if you so choose. You can do this in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you chose to opt out of these school reports altogether, you can also do so in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
