Looking Back on Last Week
County Spelling Bee
On Monday night, CCS 5th Grade student, Chasen Hampton competed at the Cullman County Spelling Bee. It was a great competition and we are so proud of how he represented CCS! Congratulations on a job well done!
Spring Pictures
On Wednesday the lower school students had spring portraits taken by Spoiled Rotten Photography. When photos are available, parents should receive notification by email and/or text.
Counselor Appreciation
In honor of National Counselor Appreciation Week, teachers brought in some super special breakfast treats on Monday for Mrs. Wilkins and Mrs. Yearwood. These ladies love our students and faculty and feel so blessed to be a part of CCS!
Mr. Yearwood's Multiplication Challenge
Multiplication facts... we all need to know them! Mr. Yearwood has been challenging these 3rd graders to memorize and be able to answer quickly. Learning these facts is hard work that often takes some extra time at home. Using fun techniques like Mr. Yearwood's quick quiz is a great way to motivate students to learn.
Jumping for Joy
Lower school PE students are loving Jump Rope Ninja! This has been a really fun way to get in some great exercise while we are stuck inside during the winter weather. Thank you Coach Cydney and Coach Nikki for making PE so fun!
Something That Can't Be Measured
How big, how wide, how deep is the love of God? Bigger than we could ever measure! Thank you Mrs. Candase for the great lesson on God's love!
Security Guard Thank You
We are so thankful for our School Security Guard, Mrs. Annadeidra Lambing! Thank you so much for keeping our students and staff safe each day!
First Things First
Upper school students have been stepping up and stepping out to lead their peers in worship at devotion and chapel. Prior to leading this group stops to pray and put God first by asking Him to take the lead. We love seeing our students engaged in worship!
Reading Time
Reading time is a favorite time for most students. This practice is an important part of the learning process as teachers model reading and inspire students to want to read more.
Sweets Galore!
The PTF Valentine Sweet Shoppe was a hit! Thank you to all the parents who sent goodies and worked at the Bake Sale. The kids loved it!
Student Led Devotions
Each Wednesday morning devotion is led by a student volunteer. This week senior, Marissa Mercer, spoke to students about agape love. She did a great job!
Valentine Brunch
Kindergarten students enjoyed heart-shaped waffles and some other goodies brought in by parents.
Love All Around
Students enjoyed fun messages to each other as they celebrated Valentine's Day to finish the week.
Helping Each Other
During Mrs. Warden's Guitar class, it is not unusual to see students learning together. That could be said for many of the things that go on in the learning environment at CCS. This photo is a great example of how older students help younger students learn and grow not only in skill or academics, but also in character and service to others.
Impactful Testimony
Each week every student at CCS participates in a chapel service. Sometimes the service is a sermon. Sometimes it's an object lesson. And other times it is a message shared from a personal testimony. This week upper school students had the opportunity to hear an impactful testimony from Ms. Sawyer Swader.
Teacher Treat
County Champs
Congratulations to the 5th Grade Boys on winning the 2025 Youth Basketball County Championship! They played a great game against a really tough competitor. We are most proud of them for how they handled themselves during the competition by being respectful and having good sportsmanship throughout!

Spring Formal
This year's Spring Formal for grades 9-12 will be held on Saturday, March 22nd.
Plans are starting to come together. Student leaders are working on this year's theme and all the details.
-------------------------
Several students have asked about the rules for inviting a date.
- Non-CCS student guests must be approved. Permission forms are available from Mrs. Yearwood.
- For guests younger than high-school age, ultimately this permission is up to the student's parent(s).
Tell Your Friends!
Open enrollment for NEW STUDENTS will officially begin on March 1st! We will begin processing new applications for remaining seats not reserved by existing students at this time. The waiting list for this process is already filling up so if you have friends who have expressed interest, please encourage them to get started with the online application at https://www.cullmanchristian.org/applications .
Steps to Enrollment:
- School Tour - We recommend that new families schedule a tour to meet with school administrators and learn more about CCS.
- Online Application - All prospective students must complete an application online at https://www.cullmanchristian.org/applications . The fee for this application is $175.
- Student Shadowing - Spending the day in classes is a great way for potential students to see what a day at CCS is like. This is a good way to help a potential student/family see if it's a good fit before making a significant financial commitment.
- Academic Screening - Once an application has been submitted, the prospective student will be scheduled for an academic screener.
- School Records - Records from the current school will be requested. This request will include grades, attendance, discipline, and recommendation.
- Remaining Documents - Any remaining required documents (i.e. birth certificate, immunizations, etc.) must be submitted.
- Admission Decision - When all data has been collected, the CCS Admission Committee reviews each prospective student application. Resulting decision information is sent to the parent.

Re-Enrollment Reminder
The re-enrollment period for priority seating for the 2025-2026 school year is almost over!
Existing families re-enroll using their Gradelink account. Log in to your Gradelink account using a web browser (not the app) and click the “Re-Enroll” tab. It will walk you through the current information we have on file and ask you to update any information that has changed or may be missing. At the end, you will pay the $125 re-enrollment fee. That’s it! If you have forgotten or lost your login information, please reach out and we will email it to you.
After February 28th remaining seats for 2025-2026 will be processed through the open enrollment period.
The CHOOSE Act (Alabama's School Choice Act)
By now you should have heard that Alabama lawmakers passed a new education savings account program, the CHOOSE Act, earlier this year. They have now launched a new website that provides the latest information about the program, including eligibility information.
The family application process for the 2025-2026 school year opened on January 2, 2025 and will close on April 7, 2025.
Funding for eligible students includes up to $7,000 per participating student enrolled in a participating school. CCS is an approved, participating school.
Visit the link below for more information.
Proof of Enrollment for the Alabama CHOOSE Act
If you have applied for the Alabama Choose Act, you will soon be receiving an email from info@factsmgmt.com requesting you to upload proof of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. To receive this proof of enrollment, first you need to have re-enrolled your child for next school year and paid the re-enrollment fee.
Once that has been completed, please email Mrs. Smothers at jada.smothers@cullmanchristian.com and she will send you the proof that you will need.

A Few Other Items
Making it Work
Sometimes you don't have your normal space, so you figure out a way to make it work! On Wednesday the gym was tied up with spring portraits, so chapel service had to take place in the back lunch area. Thank you, students and teachers for being flexible!
Thankful
Upper school students enjoy eating at The Local each day for break and lunch. We are so thankful for the DC staff that make our students feel so welcome! If you get a chance to stop in to have coffee or tell them thanks, please do! They have been wonderful!
Valentines Across America
PreK students have learned all about the 50 states through this fun project. They have been so excited each day to see if their are new letters in the mail from across the country.
Blessed with the Best
Thank you, Brittany Smith for all the work you do each and every week at CCS! We appreciate you!
Working for You
Mrs. King and Mrs. Yearwood have been working to learn ways through professional online meetings to make our data system more user friendly and efficient. Some new roll-outs will be coming in 2025-2026 that will make keeping up with all the things (tuition payments, grades, attendance, etc.) much easier.
The latest video message from Mr. and Mrs. Yearwood
Just to make sure that you read all the way to the bottom.... 😉
