Miramar Young Marines Program

The Young Marines Program is a National Youth Organization for youth 8 years through the completion of high school. The program focuses on character building, leadership and promotes a healthy, drug free lifestyle. The Young Marines Program is the focal point for the US Marine Corps Youth Drug Demand Reduction effort.

The Miramar Young Marines is located on MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Miramar. You do not have to be military to join this unit! We are a year round leadership program. We participate in many community service events, attend parades and have a lot of fun along the way.

We will begin our application process at the end of the summer (2018). If you would like to be considered for the upcoming recruit training, please send us an email at YM_Miramar@yahoo.com.

Recruit training days are on Saturdays from 7:30 am to 3 pm. Recruits are expected to arrive at 7:30 am...you are late at 7:45 am.

Encampment times are:

• Drop off at 6 pm on Friday Nights
• Pick up is at 11 am on Sunday Mornings

ALL training dates are on Saturdays.

Encampments are Friday-Sunday.

• January 18-20 Encampment
• January 26
• February 2
• February 9
• February 16
• February 23
• March 1-3 Encampment
• March 9 (no training)
• March 16 Graduation Day!

• Registration for the 2018-2019 year.
• Utility uniform (trousers, blouse, cover, patches)
• Recruit t-shirts w/name (2)
• Physical training (PT) uniform (yellow t-shirt and black shorts)
• Red National Young Marines t-shirt
• 2 encampment trips (scheduled during training - sleeping accommodations and food included)
• All training and supplies during the Recruit Cycle.
