What's happening at ALA? (PreK-12th Grade Communication)
December 6th: 8th Annual TamALAda & Theatre Chili Night!
Save the date for our 8th Annual ALA TamALAda celebration that will be held at ALA Tech on Friday, December 6th from 5-7pm. The TamALAda is a free annual PK-12 grade event that is a time for us to connect with families, view student performances and enjoy delicious tamales. Warm tamales will be provided! Following the TamALAda, our theatre department will be hosting their annual Chili Night from 6:30-8:30pm! Our TamALAda flyer can be found HERE.
Child Nutrition Services Food Drive
The Child Nutrition Services Department will be hosting a food drive in cafeterias across the district beginning December 2 through December 19. Each cafeteria will receive a bin to hold and store donations as they are received. Donations will be accepted during the regular school day when the campus is in operation. All collections will remain at the campus and will be redistributed to students and families in need of resources over Winter Break. The Child Nutrition Department will turn over the food items collected to a point of contact appointed by Campus Administration on December 19. See this flyer for more details.

As the winter break draws near, we invite your student(s) to join the fun as we celebrate 10 days of joy and cheer for everyone! The ALA Euclid Winter Holiday Dress Up Days flyer has more details!
ALA Euclid Book Fair
The ALA Euclid Book Fair is here! From December 2nd to 6th, our library is a winter book wonderland. Book Fair will be open from 7:30am-5:00pm daily. This is the perfect opportunity to stock up on books for your family, inspire a love of reading, and support our school. Don’t forget to check out Seesaw for eWallet information. We can’t wait to see you and share the joy of reading!
Letters to the North Pole
We are excited to share a fun opportunity for you and your student! A special mailbox has been set up in the main office for students to write a letter to the North Pole. This is a chance for students to reflect on the good things they’ve done this year and ask questions about life at the North Pole. Please check the flyer for all the details, including deadlines to ensure your student receives a personalized reply before Winter Break.ALA @ Tech
Summer PE
Summer PE (Rising 8th Graders): All ALA rising 8th graders should plan on attending the Summer PE program June 2-5 & June 9-12. This eight day program fulfills the mandatory high school Physical Education requirement and opens our upper class men's schedules for advanced academics, fine arts, and senior level internships. This “Save the Date” reminder is intended to help our families prioritize their summer activities well in advance of summer break.
Holiday Dress Up Days at ALA Tech
All 4th-12th grade students are invited to join ALA Tech as we celebrate the days leading up to our holiday break! Our 12 Days of Holiday Dress-Up can be found HERE.
Choice Slips for Current 9th, 10th and 11th grade
The time has come for students to select their courses for the 25-26 school year. Students will be asked to complete a google form that will be sent to their SAISD email and hard copies will be sent home with students the week of Nov 18. Parents may either sign and return the hard copy coming home with your child or email a digital copy to Ms. Ontiveros at nontiveros1@saisd.net.

7th Grade - How to remember the Alamo Exhibition : December 5
ALA 7th grade families are invited to attend the How to Remember the Alamo exhibition. Students from Mrs. Rounds’ and Mrs. Sabala’s homegroups will exhibit their projects on Thursday, December 5th from 11:45am to 12:45pm, and students from Ms. Murphy’s and Mr. Cacy’s homegroups will present from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. For this project, students assumed the role of museum curators in order to answer the driving question, “How can we accurately tell the story of the Alamo?” For more information, please reach out to Mrs. Sabala at ljimenez@saisd.net

Theatre Celebrations
On November 15th-18th our ALA and Cast Tech theatre performers and designers competed in Corpus Christi at the Texas Thespian Festival and MS Thespian Festival on November 2nd. Five students qualified for Nationals at the Festivals, two if which had perfect scores in the following areas:
Hair and Makeup Design for Disney's The Little Mermaid
Prop Design for Disney's Little Mermaid --Triton's trident
Scenic Design for Disney's The Little Mermaid
Solo Musical Performance-”Favorite Places” from Ordinary Days
Solo Monologue Performance-Monologues from “The Rabbit Foot” and “The Producers”
We are very proud of our young performers and designers.
Theatre Dept Chili Night
Please join us for our Chili Night contest and fundraiser on December 6th! Competing Chilis must be on the table by 6:15pm. Make sure to attend the Tamalada first and have a tamale appetizer, then join us for dinner, amazing performances, design showcases and winter games! Chili Night is a fundraiser that helps us support the traveling for our UIL competitive plays. We hope to see you there for a fun filled evening!
