Looking Back on Last Week
Bookmobile Visit
The Cullman County Public Library Bookmobile is back! The students are so excited about checking out books. We are so thankful for their visit and look forward to more days to come!
Ready to Read God's Word
These sweet girls were caught practicing reading while they were waiting in afternoon carline. They may not be ready to read all the words in the Bible yet, but they sure are excited about trying!
Looking Up to Older Students
1st grader, Zain, is always telling others about his favorite books of the Bible. One day this week he also wanted to show his older peer the Bible story he had learned that day in class. Thank you, Levi, for being so patient, taking interest and being a good role model!
Hooray for Warmer Weather
Students and teachers are enjoying the warmer temperatures by getting outside for learning activities and snack time.
Student Example
Sometimes students beat us to the punch or remind us of things we forget to do. Thank you, Elisabeth DeCicco, for stepping up as a leader and ending track practice with prayer! She is a great example of a student leader with a heart for Christ and for serving others.
Tornado Drill
Lower school students took some time this week to brush up on severe weather procedures. Having drills helps to not only prepare students for what to do, but also to ease any fears they may have.
Encouraging Words and a Safety Reminder
Sergeant Jeff Lawson spoke at upper school chapel this week. He took some time to share his personal testimony, give encouragement to the students, and also provide a good safety reminder about cell phone apps and video games that are an open space for predators.
Fan Favorite
Art class with Mrs. Griffin continues to be a fan favorite. Classes are learning about different kinds of art, developing skills, and growing their creative minds.
Keeping It Real
9th grade students participated in the Keeping It Real program with the Cullman Economic Development office. This activity helps students think through real-life scenarios as they build and try to maintain a family budget.
3rd Grade Trip
3rd grade students took a trip to our education neighbors and watched a performance of "Charlotte's Web" at Cullman High School.
Photography at Work
Photography students worked this week on taking headshots of each drama and chorus student for the playbill that is being designed by the journalism class for the upcoming spring performance.
PCC Visit
10th-12th grade students learned more about Pensacola Christian College, it's degree programs, scholarship opportunities, and campus life on Friday when we had a husband and wife team from the college visit with us.
Baby Coming Soon
Juniors and Seniors threw a party for their dual enrollment English teacher, Dr. Nix, this week. Congratulations to the Nix family on the new addition to arrive very soon!

The CHOOSE Act (Alabama's School Choice Act)
By now you should have heard that Alabama lawmakers passed a new education savings account program, the CHOOSE Act, earlier this year. They have now launched a new website that provides the latest information about the program, including eligibility information.
The family application process for the 2025-2026 school year opened on January 2, 2025 and will close on April 7, 2025.
Funding for eligible students includes up to $7,000 per participating student enrolled in a participating school. CCS is an approved, participating school.
Visit the link below for more information.
Proof of Enrollment for the Alabama CHOOSE Act
If you have applied for the Alabama Choose Act, you will soon be receiving an email from info@factsmgmt.com requesting you to upload proof of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. To receive this proof of enrollment, first you need to have re-enrolled your child for next school year and paid the re-enrollment fee.
Once that has been completed, please email Mrs. Smothers at jada.smothers@cullmanchristian.com and she will send you the proof that you will need.
- CHOOSE Act Application - [ONLINE APPLICATION] Complete online at https://classwallet.com/alchoose/pre-qualify-apply.htm
- Scholarship for Kids Application - [PAPER APPLICATION] A paper copy was sent home with each child. Additional copies are available in the main office.
