Final Summer Programming Update

Final Summer Programming Update
Final SummerProgramming Update

Dear staff and families,

Tomorrow marks the last instructional day for students enrolled in PPS academic summer programming. With high heat again in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon, we wanted to reach out with a final summer programming update.

Tonight’s overnight forecast predicts a low in the mid-60s, which will keep even our non-air conditioned learning sites comfortable Thursday morning. Given this, we are continuing with regularly scheduled academic summer programming on Thursday at all learning sites.

Temperatures could rise to uncomfortable levels in the afternoon hours, and families whose students are enrolled in optional afternoon enrichment activities and childcare are welcome to use their discretion about whether they prefer to pick their students up early or opt for them to remain onsite for those programs.

If your afternoon plans differ from your typical arrangement and you would like to pick up your student at dismissal or would like for your student to return home on the bus, please communicate with your student’s teacher as soon as possible. (Athletics will use their discretion about practices based on OSAA guidelines.)

Please stay safe and have a wonderful rest of your summer.

Sincerely,

Dan Jung, Chief Operating Officer

Joe Crelier, Director of Risk Management
