Forsyth Mission Statement
To inspire and equip every student for their next state in life.
FHS Summer School 2024
Forsyth High School offered seven types of summer school.
1. Personal Finance and Health courses: These optional courses are for students going into the 10th / 11th Grades next school year. These courses are offered through LAUNCH and were taught online. 20 Students Enrolled.
2. Credit Recovery: These courses are for any student who needs to re-take a core class (math, science, English, & history). All credit recovery summer school courses will be taught through the Edgenuity learning program facilitated by FHS teachers. 34 Students Enrolled.
3. Drivers Education: All students enrolled will receive five days of class instruction followed by driving instruction. 15 Students Enrolled.
4. Attendance Recovery: Students may attend summer school to make up their attendance deficiencies. 3-5 Students per day.
5. July Virtual Option. Students who complete the seated credit recovery portion of summer school will have the option to enroll in a July virtual credit recovery program.
6. Outdoor Recreation: Students participate in a variety of outdoor recreational activities, including fishing and hiking. 6 Students Enrolled.
7. Work Program *NEW*: 4 students participated in a grant-funded summer work program organized by Mrs. Phipps. In addition to learning valuable life skills, these students also earned a paycheck while helping out our custodial staff.

ACT Boot Camp
Teachers included:

Students who completed the boot camp have the opportunity to reimbursed $60 for their June ACT exam fee.
April & May "Be The One" Recipients
Mr. Gailey was named the April 'Be the One' recipient. Clint is the high school Vo-ag teacher.
Jule Maskrod was named the April 'Be the One' recipient. Jule is a paraprofessional at FHS.
Paul Voliva was named the May 'Be the One' recipient. Paul is a PE and Alternative school teacher as well as the boys & girls Tennis Coach for Forsyth High School.
Lucas Woody was named the May 'Be the One' recipient. Lucas is a paraprofessional in Mrs. Legore's room.

Lady Panther Softball: District Champions!
The Lady Panther softball team finished the season strong by defeating a talented Sparta team to win their district. The Lady Panthers fell to the Diamond Wildcats in sectional play. Great season ladies!

Panther Tennis Team Dominates in 2023!
The boys tennis team had an amazing year under the tutelage of Coach Paul Voliva. The team went undefeated during the regular season and several players made strong post-season runs.
Team Accolades: District Champion, state quarterfinalist.
Individual Awards: Ryan Deroo, Wesley Meister, Drue Coen, Willis Bearden & Griffin Coen earned 1st team All-District honors. Pablo Comer received 2nd team all district honors.

FCCLA News
On May 3rd, the FCCLA students treated the HS Faculty to lunch.
FFA News
Mr. Gailey has been busy this summer continuing to make improvements on the school farm and conducting Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) visits with his students. To date almost 70% of our students are taking part in either Placement or Ownership SAE’s.
School Farm Progress
Mr. Gailey & his students have continued to make improvements to the pasture by applying multiple herbicide applications and planting cool and warm season grass. The pasture is beginning to take shape and will be ready for animals soon.
The next step is to establish the parking and driving area around the building. Gravel has been ordered and spreading should begin soon.
JROTC News
On May 28th several of the JROTC cadets went to the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport to welcome home the veterans on the Honor Flight of the Ozarks.
The JROTC cadets have a busy summer schedule including leadership camps and shooting practice.
Art Club News
The Art Club hosted "One Fine Night" to raise funds for future art club projects. Watch the video below to see the finale of the "True Artist Challenge'.
