Calling all fish lovers!
Our cichlid tank has too many fish, so we are looking to rehome some of our fish. If you are interested, please see the front office!
Kindergarten Korner
Hello parents!
We are doing our annual Pumpkin Day activity on Wednesday, October 30th with the 4th and 5th grade classes. We are doing a collaboration activity and joining Kindergarten and 4/5 for a fun filled afternoon with many learning activities. We need your generosity once again, please start sending in pumpkins to school, donate all the pumpkins you wish. We need medium and large pumpkins, ideally one for each student.
We encourage you to volunteer and come help that day, October 30th @ 11:45 for set-up in the gym, and then stay from 12:40-2:00 to help with the supervision of carving.
Gracias!!
A word of thanks from Sra. Hill
A huge thank you to Mrs. Atkinson for all your time, dedication and talent teaching Mrs. Strickler's class the tango dance. Thank you for your research on Uruguay dancing, your expert choreography, help with the costumes, and teaching the kids the art and skill of dancing. So many great skills were learned and the cultural aspect of the tango.
Thank you to Sra. Sanchez for volunteering her time to teach the second graders Peruvian games from her childhood in Peru. She didn't even have a student in the class. And the kids loved them and ask to play the games all the time.
Thank you to coach Tony for helping coach soccer during our soccer unit. The kids loved your expertise and joy for the game. Thank you to all our trail volunteers, and to Mr. Bates and Mrs. Romo for helping with soccer.
Pikymykid update
If you need to change your students dismissal, please use Pikmykid. For absences, please use parentVUE (this is a lot easier to do using the app and not a web browser). Parked in parking lot is an option available to all parents, but we haven't really explained how to use it! If you choose this option, please either use the announce feature in Pikmykid or check in with the staff member using the iPad outside to check in parents. This will notify the classroom that you are there to pick your student up and their teacher will send them out to be dismissed. Using the announce feature or checking in through the staff member with the iPad helps ensure a smoother, faster pick up for everyone! We really appreciate everyones cooperation, patience, and understanding as we continue to improve dismissal procedures. As always, we love having parent volunteers to help with dismissal and please follow staff directions to ensure everyone's safety!
🟣 Volunteer opportunities 🟣
They're cute but...
We still have a handful of bunnies making their homes under our portables. If you are able to remove them from the premises during the weekends, please let the front office know! They're cute, but they're being destructive. 😪
Playground maintenance
Before it gets too cold, we are looking for a parent (or parents) to check the nuts and bolts on the playground equipment to ensure everything is still tight and in working order. Any supplies needed will be reimbursed / purchased by the school.
Flagpole
Our Alaska flag on the outdoor flagpole is looking a little worn and is needing to be replaced. If you have the time to switch it out for a new one, please let the front office know!
Help during recess and lunch
We always need extra hands during recess and lunch. If you are willing to help with these (even occasionally), you will need to get a background check from the troopers station, and fill out the volunteer form located at the front office.

Middle School dance November 1

Hola Middle School Parents, Below you will find two important documents for the upcoming dance. The code of conduct form will be used for the remaining school year - it only needs to be filled out once. It will be required for all middle school students who plan on attending dances. There is also a google sheet for parents to sign up for volunteer opportunities. If you attended the Events and Fundraising meeting and signed up to volunteer or donate items we did not add you to this form - please sign up 😁. After a couple days we will go through the list, cross reference this sheet, and contact parents who signed up at the meeting to confirm.
Gracias, Amber, Adi, and Katrina

We will start meeting on Mondays from 2:45-3:45, November 4th in the library.
Competition will be February 5th, 2025
I’ll send out another notice when permission slips are available to sign, likely the week after our Spanish Heritage celebrations.
Books are available now in our library and at the Wasilla library (likely others too, but this is where I have seen them for myself). Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to working with your 7th and 8th graders! - Cari Molinaro
