Message from the Assistant Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy New Year! The beginning of the year is a wonderful opportunity to start fresh, set new goals, and work together to make this year one of growth and success for every student.
Letβs kick off this year with a positive mindset, a focus on teamwork, and a shared commitment to doing our very best. Together, we can make this a fantastic year for our East Minico Pirates!
This weekβs newsletter includes several important updates:
π Pizza for Lunch: Weβre thrilled to announce that pizza will now be available as a lunch option! Students can look forward to enjoying this exciting addition to our menu.
π± Cell Phone Policy Update: A reminder that students may only use their cell phones during lunch. Phones will no longer be allowed during passing periods, and students will need to verify their phone is left in the classroom when leaving for the restroom. These changes support our focus on learning and minimizing distractions.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a positive and productive environment for our students. Letβs start strong and keep the momentum going all semester!
Go Pirates!
Sincerely,
Tamara Carter

Important Update to our Cell Phone Policy
As we begin the new semester, we want to share an update to our cell phone policy aimed at reducing distractions and maintaining a focus on learning. Effective immediately:
- Cell phones will not be allowed during passing periods.
- Cell phones may only be used during lunch.
- When asking to leave the classroom (e.g., for restroom use), students will be asked to verify their phone is left in the classroom.
These updates align with our commitment to promoting student engagement, safety, and responsibility. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations with your student at home.
Thank you for partnering with us to create an environment where all Pirates can thrive!
