Welcome to Llano
Welcome to Llano Elementary School. We're excited to see our Pre-kindergarten students and Kindergarten students as they begin this new school year. This year will be a wonderful year full of learning and fun, not to mention, an incredible year of growth and change. Our preschool aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn, play, and grow. Our main focus is on language skills, social skills, and helping students become independent learners. In kindergarten, you will be amazed as you watch your child blossom as a reader, writer, scientist, mathematician, thinker and friend! As the principal, I want our students to explore new ideas, make new friends, and enjoy the learning journey. We encourage families to be involved in their child's education and look forward to having a wonderful year together. If you ever need support or have any questions, feel free to give our office a call. We are glad to help! Let’s work together to make it a successful and fun year. Here's to a fantastic school year ahead!

Helpful Hints to Start the Year
Preparing Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for their first day of school can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. Here are some hints and tips to help them get ready:
Visit the School: If possible, visit the school and come to meet the teacher before the first day. Familiarize your child with the classrooms, playground, and other areas they will be using.
Talk About School: Have conversations about what to expect at school. Explain that they will meet new friends, have a teacher, and engage in fun activities.
Establish a Routine: Establish a daily routine that mirrors the school schedule. This helps children get used to waking up, eating, and going to bed at consistent times.
Practice Independence: Encourage independence by allowing your child to do simple tasks on their own, such as dressing themselves, using the restroom, and packing their backpack.
Read Books About School: Reading books about starting kindergarten can help alleviate anxiety and spark excitement about the new experience.
