There are times where the weekend just flies by and for me this past weekend was one of those and here we are back at Monday. It's amazing how this happens. I hope today has been good to you. It has been good to Wren Avenue. We just received 8 boxes of shelving from Yours Humanly. This shelving will be put to good use storing all of the art supplies we received a few weeks past. Currently our art supply room is under construction. I cannot wait to show you what it looks like when it is finished. Pictures to come.

A great big shout out to our new School Site Council Parent Members, Alvina Franklin and Mariah McCollum and to Jamie Delaney as our new Teacher Member. Please look for an invite to our first SSC meeting shortly.

This Friday, September 25 is our next Materials Distribution Day. The hours will be the same as the last one: 7:30-10:30 a.m. and 3:00-6:00 p.m. Below you will find a calendar for the rest of our distribution days.

Please take advantage of the MDUSD Food Program. Our cafeteria is serving meals from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and then from 3:30-5:00 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

As you know, a few weeks ago our school community received an enormous donation from Sunny Singh and his organization Yours Humanly. Sunny Singh just received the 2020 Jefferson Award. Please see the video below to learn a little bit more about this incredible man and his organization.

Each week I will highlight artwork from our very own Wren Avenue artists. The art displayed will be works inspired by artists your children are learning about from the Art in Action curriculum.

Mrs. Barney's 4th Grade Class have studied the artist Faith Ringgold as part of their Art in Action (AIA) curriculum. Faith Ringgold is renowned for creating Quilt Collages that tell a story. Below you will find student masterpieces in the style of Faith Ringgold.
