WBL Students Display a Professional Perspective & Professional Behavior
Student Agreement
Agree to professionally represent the school and employer. Display a willingness to learn.
Show motivation and ask for more tasks.
Please do not take advantage the independence of WBL.
Please understand that you can be removed and placed into an elective if this occurs.
Evaluated by employer monthly. It is very important that your evaluations are signed by your mentor/employer. Forging a signature will result in immediate removal and failure of the course(s).
Agreement to submit to Mrs. Carter a monthly portfolio which includes the following: *Attendance sheet or paystubs indicating total hours and wages earned during that period,
*Portfolio Assignments
*Evaluations and Reflections vis FlipGrid
Requirement – work or intern one hour for each release period during the day.
1 WBl Period = approx. 5 hrs per wk
2 WBL Periods = approx. 10 hrs per wk
3 WBL Periods = approx. 15 hrs per wk
4 WBL Periods (Approval from Principal) = approx. 20 hrs per wk
You are agreeing to announced and unannounced employer visits. Please sign in and out each day.
Absences
Students are not to attend work if they are absent from school.
*Please plan ahead for appointments, games, vacations, college visits, prom, etc.
Time will need to be made up for any days missed. Hours=Test Grades
Students are to call Mrs. Carter and your employer/mentor when absent from school – leave a message, text or email when absent before 8:30 a.m.

1st time- Warning
2nd time – Detention.
When you check out – record check out time on sign in/out sheet and LEAVE THE BUILDING
50 Points will be deducted from your weekly grade if students fail to adhere to absences agreement.

•In case of an emergency, make sure your parents know the work site phone number, extension and mentor’s name.
Serious Violations
If Employers or Mentors calls/emails me when you are absent without permission or call in.
If you are not present at your worksite as scheduled and as you have documented on sign out sheet.
If you leave your work site early with out prior permission from your employer or WBL Coordinator.
These violations will result in being written up and possibly spending a day in ISS - it is considered SKIPPING!

What's next?
All WBL Students will report to Media Center on first day of school during your WBL period- Must have documentation packet completed before you can leave campus!
You will receive the following:
•My Business card, WBL Key Fob & Window Cling
•Bell Schedule for the first week
•Advisement and Junior/Senior Meetings
•Calendar for the year to give to the employer/mentor
Grading Criteria
Career Related Education Program grading criteria is as follows:
· Semester Average, which equals 80%, consists of the following categories:
o Program Documentation 10%
o Required Hours 40%
o Assignments – monthly assignments per release period of credit 30%
o Employer/WBL Instructor Evaluations 20%
· Work submitted AFTER the due date will receive a maximum grade of “70.”
· Final Average will include the Exam (20%) and the Semester Average (80%).
· The Final Exam for Work-Based Learning is comprised of three parts:
1. Summative Employer Evaluation
2. Summative Student Reflection
3. Summative Hours from Semester 1 & 2
Each part is worth 33% of the final exam grade. (Remember that the final exam is worth 20% of your overall course grade per Hall County Schools policy.)
Failing to sign out or sign in daily – even if you check out – you are required to sign out – 20 points and Detention
Being absent from school and not notifying WBL Coordinator and your mentor– 50 points and detention
Failing to bring in pay stubs or attendance sheet monthly. – 0 Test Grade
(Students that receive a pay check will need to make send a picture of or your original pay stub and turn it in with your portfolio every month)
Failing to turn in hours, evaluations, assignments on time will result in a automatic 70 when turned in late- even 1 day!
PLEASE MAKE SURE INFORMATION IS CORRECT IN INFINITE CAMPUS! Update any changes to access CANVAS COURSE.

When can you start leavingfor WBL?
NGHS Rotations will not begin until further notice- Students can find volunteer hours for the hours you need- hours sheet required
