HOME OF THE CRUSADERS
TOGETHER WE WILL
We believe this year is going to be the best school year ever, and we are committed to helping all students thrive as they work toward achieving their goals. Our motto of Together We Will represents our desire to empower and encourage students and challenges everyone to show resilience and dedication. We are here to help, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us if there is a way we can support your student.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SCHEDULE
Students will start the day by attending a homeroom. They will briefly attend all of their classes. Our day concludes with a short rally in the gym before students are dismissed at 10:30.
We are encouraging students to wear WHITE on Monday in support of our first spirit day.
Materials and Supplies
Pankow Students
On the first day, students with Pankow classes will travel to Pankow on the bus. Students in the 1-2 block, should attend homeroom first and then head to the bus in the back of the building (staff lot). Students with Pankow in the 3-4 and 5-6 blocks should exit LCN through the commons to get on a Pankow bus in the front of the building.
Student Leaders
Homeroom
On the first day only, students will report to their homeroom classes in the morning. They will receive an official copy of their schedule. It is possible changes have been made since Crusader Day, so it is very important for students to follow the new schedule that appears on yellow paper.
Homeroom assignments will be posted throughout the building, and we have included the document below, so your student can identify their room number.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Crusader Day Forms
Student addresses must be verified each year. Students who missed Crusader Day MUST come to school on Monday with their Address Verification Forms (mailed home in Crusader Day packets). If your student did not receive a Crusader Day packet in the mail, then proof of residency paperwork must be provided to the main office.
Schedule Changes
Our counselors have been working diligently to adjust schedules, and they will continue to accept requests for additional schedules changes until Thursday, August 29th. Please use the QR code printed on the schedules or the link provided here to request a change. Schedules are only changed for graduation requirements and extenuating circumstances, not for lunch and teacher preferences. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
Please join us at our LCN Open House on Wednesday, September 4th at 6 pm
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Wednesdays
L'Anse Creuse Public Schools will follow a restructured schedule on Wednesdays. LCN students will attend all their classes on Wednesdays; however, the school day will end at 1:20. August 28th is a traditional day of school. Restructured Wednesdays will not begin until September 4th.
Phones
Students should not be using their phones during class. They will be able to utilize technology in the classroom with their Chromebooks. Teachers will outline their specific cell phone policies that may include storing phones in a designated location during the class period, but students are encouraged to keep their phones in their lockers while they attend classes. Students are expected to be respectful digital citizens when using technology.
Chromebooks
It is our expectation that all students will bring their school-issued Chromebooks to school with them on a daily basis. Personal computers should not be used during the school day.
Our freshmen students and new LCN students will receive Chromebooks the first week of school. In order for a student to receive a Chromebook, we must have a Technology Use Form and Device Agreement form on file (9th graders and new students only). In addition, any outstanding fines related to technology must be paid.
Insurance is available for $23. Additional information regarding device insurance is available below.
Backpacks and Lockers
Pankow/MST Students
On a regular school day, students with Pankow hours 1-2 will board the Pankow bus by the staff lot on the west side of the building before 7:04 AM. Please note, this bus leaves before school starts. If you are getting a ride to school, please plan ahead so you do not miss the Pankow bus. Parent drop off at Pankow is permitted in the morning if your student gets a ride to school. All other Pankow blocks (3-4) or (5-6) will board buses in the front of the building at the LCN main entrance. Students may not drive to or from Pankow.
Attendance
Student ID
Students who attended Crusader Day were given a student ID. Students who had their picture taken at the make-up day will be receiving their ID soon. All other students will get a picture taken on Thursday, September 12th. Although students are expected to show an ID upon entering the building each day, we understand not everyone has received an ID at this point.
Bus Transportation
Lunches
Building Exits
Power School
Power School Parent Portal will not be available until August 26th. Once it is active, parents may utilize this platform to follow their student's academic grades, attendance, and graduation progress. Please reference the LCPS website for guidance on accessing the portal.
Morning Drop Off
In order to have a safe and efficient morning drop off procedure, we need parents to use the drop off lane near the main entrance of High School North. Students may exit the vehicle along the sidewalk at any point. Waiting to reach the front entrance can slow the flow of traffic. Vehicles will exit the parking lot using the first lane. Student drivers will cross to the sidewalk east of the turnaround as indicated on the map. The building will open at 6:40. Thank you in advance for your patience as we implement these procedures.
After School Pick Up
We ask that parents form a single line in the main entrance circle drive to allow for easy exiting. Parents can also find an open parking space in our lot as they wait for their student. Vehicles may NOT park or idle along the driveways or fields.
Students are expected to follow the expectations outlined in the LCPS Student Code of Conduct. We will be hosting class meetings with students next week to outline these concepts, but please review these expectations with your student.
Students and parents are also encouraged to review the LCPS Dress Code Policy.

GRADE LEVEL NEWS
Senior Sunrise
The Class of 2025 Senior Sunrise is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30 am. All seniors are welcome to attend this event. Breakfast will be provided and various activities will help these seniors start the year in a memorable way.
Senior Dues
In addition to carrying on the many LCN traditions for this year’s senior class, we are also looking for new opportunities to create special moments for our seniors. We are working to combine the sacredness of traditional events and the excitement of new endeavors. In order to provide our students with a variety of moments that we hope will become lifelong memories, senior dues are collected. These dues help pay for many events and activities throughout the year, so our students do not have to worry about many different financial commitments; instead, they can focus on having fun and making memories with their classmates before they finish their time as Crusaders. Dues are $35 and can be paid online using SchoolPay.
