Three Cheers for the Red, White, & Blue
Only Together, We Are TJES!
Hello Patriots!
Another strong week is in the books. We appreciate everyone's patience during Monday's dismissal. Looking at the week ahead we will fall into our regular schedule with reading and math groups getting into full swing across our building. On Friday we will have a little fun with College Gear Day. Whether you are a UVA Wahoo, a VT Hokie, a JMU Duke, or any other amazing university we encourage our Patriots to rep your school on Friday. The following week we have a division holiday on Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day and Buddy Hour on Wednesday, September 4th,
Upcoming Asynchronous Learning Day - 9/18
Each year, our students have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and dive into local service projects on asynchronous learning days. And guess what? Our first big event to celebrate Constitution Day is almost here!
Are you worried about childcare? We've got you covered! Parks and Recreation offers childcare from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM at every school so your child can join in the fun even if you have to work!
Keep an eye out for a family letter coming home this week with all the details about this fantastic opportunity. We can't wait to see everyone get involved!
Key Reminders:
- Please call our office before 12:30 with any afternoon transportation changes for your Patriot. This ensures that this information is properly directed to all impacted parties and ensure that your Patriot has a smooth afternoon dismissal.
- Morning Parent Drop-off is open from 7:45-8:10. We ask that parents dropping students off in the morning, please remain in your vehicle and our staff will unbuckle your Patriot and get them out of the car.
- After 8:10 students are considered tardy and will need to be walked in through the Main Entrance to be signed in
- Afternoon Parent Pick-up is normally open from 3:05-3:25. We ask that families not arrive to line-up before 2:00 to avoid traffic backing up into the highway. We again ask that families remain in their car and our staff will load Patriots into your vehicle. If you need to assist your Patriot with buckling, please pull over into the angled parking spots to the right.
- No outside food(cupcakes, cookies, etc...) can be brought to share with other students for the first few weeks while we confirm student allergy information. All outside food will then need to be store bought and list ingredients to be checked by the nurse for allergy concerns.
- We will start inviting families in for lunch after the Labor Day holiday to give our Patriots time to learn the lunch routines. Please call the main office to make reservations for lunch with your Patriot after this date.
