ABLAZE

February is here and so are the many things that cause allergies and sickness. Allergies and being sick are never fun and a wave of the flu has flown into Texas, followed by a wave of things in the air that cause our sniffles to not go away.

And yet.

In the midst of the messy, sticky, unpleasant grime this world often brings, February reminds us of love. Yes, the Valentine's Day, flowers, chocolate, and giant teddy bears kind of love, but there's also a love we cannot forget.

It's a love that moves mountains, softens the hardest heart, drives out fear, sustains in this life, and gives us hope for a better day.

"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." (1 John 4:16)

So let's not worry or even doubt if God's love is enough. Because love doesn't exist without God and Love can do things we can never imagine.

We'll be continuing with our ABLAZE Wednesday Nights on in the Youth Room from 6:30-8:30 pm. We will be continuing in a new series following a devotional called "Facing Fear" and then starting a new series called "Different."

We'll also be having a Boys and Girls Night on February 26th. Boys will go to the Pike residence and girls will go to the Jones residence. More details to come soon!

As we continue in February, we continue in our series about angels and what Scripture has to say about what and who angels are. We will meet on Sundays in the Youth Room from 9:30-10:30 am.

Then at the end of February, we will start a new series called "Words of Wisdom" that is a devotional into the book of Proverbs.

Here's the schedule:

February 9th: No Connection Hour (We'll be on the Winter Retreat!)

February 16th: Angels

February 13rd: Words of Wisdom

Youth Gathering Meeting (Current 8th Graders only): February 16th right after the second service in the youth room

The Envelope Fundraiser is something we did last year to raise money for the Sr. High Youth Gathering and Jr. High Mission Trips.

Because Jr. High students will be at the Winter Retreat, Sr. High Youth need to help man the station for any questions people may have on February 9th!!! Thank you!!!
