• We are excited to announce the formation of the Rye Neck Chapter of the Science National Honor Society for the 2024-25 school year. Information has been distributed to all current sophomores and juniors through Google Classroom pages. Please complete and submit applications by May 10th. We encourage all interested students to review the requirements and apply for membership.

• Science Research News: Congratulations to Killian Aubry for winning third place at the Tri- County Science and Technology Fair. His project, Rethinking Neural Network Algorithms To Enhance Machine Learning Efficiency for Non-Linear Data, competed in the category of Math and Computers. See pic here.
• College and Career Prep classes: This week, juniors "served" as college admissions committees. Students worked in teams to evaluate "student applicants" and learned how admissions counselors review freshmen applications. Students then presented their final candidates and debated who would gain entry! We are so proud of our juniors for the enthusiasm they are showing for the admissions process. See pics here.
  

The restrooms have been a source concern this year due to students congregating and missing class, and/or engaging in activities that are not allowed in school. Situations like these tend to deter students who actually want to use the bathroom for its intended purpose. We have been troubleshooting solutions to this problem all year--staff and students alike--with limited success. And recently, there was an admitted over-correction. When we saw students having to wait, we modified our approach and made it clear to monitors and staff that no one should have to miss class just to use the restroom. We continue to work to find the most balanced approach possible--one that meets student needs while supporting the requirements of our shared learning space. Thank you all--especially the students--for your patience with this process. As always, we welcome constructive suggestions for solutions!

• Regents Review Calendar: Each Regents Exam will have 6-one hour review sessions as "extra" exam prep. These sessions begin next week and run through the last day of classes. The "Extended Day" program will be ending this week and replaced by these review sessions.

• Fishing Event at Mamaroneck Marine Education: Come enjoy the Free Youth Fishing Event on June 2, 2024. Time: 12:00-1:00 p.m. Location: Mamaroneck Marine Education. Sign up on the Google link here. Special Guest: Senator Mayer! Nothing Bundt Cakes will be joining us!!! See attached flyers.
