Dear BES Families,

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final BBN of the school year! On behalf of the entire BES staff, thank you for the privilege of partnering with you in your child’s educational journey. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to foster a culture of belonging and grow the next generation of leaders.

This year brought exciting new milestones—from our first multicultural celebration to honoring exceptional student achievements in reading. To our families moving on, we wish you all the best in your next chapter. To those returning, we look forward to welcoming you back for another great year in 2025–2026.

Last year, we started a new tradition in BUSD. High school seniors went back to their elementary schools to take one last trip down memory lane. If you have a senior at BHS who attended one of our elementary schools, or know someone that does, please fill out the following link to participate in this new tradition!

Our placement process involves thoughtful collaboration among teachers and staff, and we consider multiple factors including student learning styles, peer relationships, and individual support needs. While we value and appreciate your partnership, we are unable to accept requests for specific teachers. This approach ensures fairness for all families, supports the professional strengths of all our teachers, and allows us to build classrooms where every student can thrive

Please know that our entire teaching staff is dedicated to fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. School staff have a comprehensive understanding of students’ academic, social, and emotional needs, and use this knowledge to make placement decisions.

If there are particular needs or considerations you'd like us to keep in mind during the placement process, I welcome you to share those, and we will do our best to support your child.

All students are entitled to a free breakfast and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year. Our lunch menu continues to be online. You can find both the breakfast and lunch menus HERE. You do have the ability to add any allergens through the link to ensure that if your student has any allergies, they know what to avoid. If your child has food allergies, be sure to fill out a medical exemption form that can be obtained in the office. This form must be signed by a physician.
