Emerson Parent & Community Newsletter (February 19, 2025)
A Message From the Principal
Good Afternoon, Emerson Families,
Thank you to everyone who has submitted receipts, and to those who continue to submit receipts.
We are getting close to the end of the School Cents fundraiser, and only have two months left to get in our receipts. Receipts can be from stores in/around the Lakewood Center Mall, from the Cerritos Mall, and/or the Stonewood Center Mall. There is a drop box in the office, and right outside the door, to make it easier to drop them off if you don't have the time, or are unable to upload them yourself.
Next month there will be a recycling event at each of the Centers, and we can earn 2,000 points for each item on the list recycled. There is a form below that can be taken to the event so our school gets credit.
With Appreciation,
Dr. Dominguez

SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER - SEPT 1 THROUGH APRIL 30
This year we are excited to announce that Emerson will be participating in the School Cents fundraiser. We have an opportunity to raise money by shopping at any of the following shopping Centers through April 30th - Lakewood Mall, Los Cerritos Mall, and Stonewood Center. The only thing we need from families is your receipts uploaded to their website from any participating stores it those centers. They can either be dropped off at the school for us to upload, they can be emailed to Emerson directly (a link will be provided before Friday), or they can be uploaded by the person making the purchase. Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and anyone else who you'd like to invite can participate.
Click the flyer below to see opportunities for 3x points!
During the month of February, our school can earn 3x points for the retailers detailed below at each of the named stores on the flyer.
If you, or someone you know, will be signing up to participate in the Lakewood Run happening on March 1st, our site can earn 2,500 bonus points for each person registered if you submit the receipt before March 1st. Donating blood? Ask to scan the QR code for School Cents, and our site can also earn 2,500 bonus points for each person donating.
Receipts can be brought to the office, or uploaded on your own - whichever is easiest! A drop box has been placed on the front counter, and a mailbox has now been added next to the Main Office door in the hallway to make dropping off receipts even easier.
We're slowing moving up! This month we moved down to 21st place in the contest, but there's still time to help us move back to the top 10 before the contest ends! Let us know if there are any questions. Don't wait, upload your receipts today, or turn them into the office and we can do it for you.
Thank you in advance for all of your support!
We're up to 21st place 😲 - There's still time to get us back to the top 10!
Click the button above, or the photo below, for the E-Waste Recycling form needed to give Emerson credit for your device. Forms are also available in the Main Office between 8:30am-4:00pm.
5th Grade students will be receiving a free yearbook, so there's no reason to purchase one. If you have already purchased a yearbook for your 5th Grade student, please email President@EmersonPTA.com for a refund.
